More for Manchester
Delta will return to Manchester, with a new peak-summer service to Boston effective May 21, 2020 taking over Virgin Atlantic’s current operation. Flights will increase from the current three per week to a daily service, offering an extra 45% capacity versus last year.

Manchester will become the eighth Transatlantic destination served nonstop by Delta from Boston, while flights to Atlanta, New York-JFK, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Orlando will continue to be operated by Virgin Atlantic. Together the airlines will offer a schedule of up to six daily flights to Manchester from six U.S. cities next summer.

Customers flying on Delta and Virgin Atlantic-operated flights enjoy Wi-Fi connectivity, fully flat-bed seats, in-seat entertainment for every customer and a host of special touches to make every flight memorable.

Next summer, Delta will reinstate a daily Edinburgh-JFK service and double frequency on Heathrow-JFK to twice daily.

The Heathrow-Detroit daily flight will also be reinstated as will Dublin-Boston. Heathrow-Boston, which resumes on 10 September, will move from five a week to daily with the start of summer 2021 timetables.

Flights to Delta’s main Atlanta hub will see similar increases in frequency and reinstatements from March 2021. The Heathrow flight will move from daily this winter to twice daily and the daily Dublin service will resume. Heathrow-Minneapolis will also resume on a daily basis.

“While significant hurdles remain in the global fight against the pandemic, we are ready to connect customers to the people, places, opportunities and experiences they’re longing for,” said Joe Esposito, the airline’s senior vice president, network planning.

The airline warned specific restart dates “may vary” for previously suspended routes “due to travel restrictions and other operational requirements”.

Delta will retire its 18-strong Boeing 777 fleet by October this year, offering newer Airbus A350s and A330-900neos on transatlantic services as well as refurbished Boeing 767s.

Was that meant for the Manchester forum Ian or did you mean to put it in the Heathrow forum? I've had a tough day but I've read it twice now and can't see any mention of Manchester airport?

I was wondering why MAN-Boston was not included and just wanted to know if the route was just omitted or there is a change of plan ?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
