It appears that BA made the switch a day early, BA1402 was the last arrival into T3, with BA1404 and BA1406 going to T2, stands 103 and 105.

I’ll be on BA1404 this Saturday so if anyone wants images of the domestic arrivals setup for BA at T2 I can do that

Big day tomorrow. Pier 2 opening.
Who' s cutting the ribbon? Is dual taxiway opening too?

having seen a few photos just now you are in for a treat - it is no exaggeration to say this route looks like you are winding your way through the service corridors of t2. sadly i will also be experiencing it on saturday as well.

RingwayReports stating that the first flight to use the new Pier tomorrow will be LS809 to Málaga. FR24 showing A321neo G-HLYK will do the honours.

Also seen on a few Insta accounts that EasyJet A320 G-EZTG has been over to one of the T2 airbridge stands this evening, most likely for testing with DHL.

In regards to Terminal moves, Corendon are now showing as operating from T2 from 26th October on the airport website. I was aware the original plan was to move them virtually, and they won't be serving MAN between early November and late March, so a potential last minute move plan?

Was just going to post the above.

GHLYK departed from 203L (C3) this morning as LS809 to AGP.

GEZTG was towed onto then back off 205 yesterday evening after familiarisation training with DHL.

Terminal move above per the MAG website.

LS1009 G-DRTK departed from Stand 203 on the new pier this afternoon, though unsure if pax were bussed or not as Gate not showing up on any of the websites.

Now that the final arrangements for terminal moves have been confirmed, can anyone shed any more light on the T3 redevelopment? My assumption is that once check in and security have been vacated when RY move, the departure lounge will be expanded into those areas.

Longer term, there needs to be a new T3 check in and security area if the airport is to go ahead with its closure and demolition of T1. Logically this is something that needs to happen to facilitate future expansion of the airport onto the current T1 site.

It's been previously mentioned that the lower 2 floors of Olympic House could become the T3/RYR Check in and Security areas with a connection into the expanded departure lounge of T3. Is anyone aware if this plan is being progressed? Whilst it's not ideal repurposing an old office building, I can see the airports logic here. It's a relatively cheap solution that provides short-medium term capacity in T3 therefore allowing a complete demolition and long term redevelopment of T1.
It seems the medium term plan for the works needed to T3 to allow T1 to fully close in a few years is indeed underway.

It's my understanding that the potential conversion of the lower floor (s?) of Olympic House have now been excluded as not value for money due to the need to also build a connection into T3 Departures.

I'm told by someone close to the project that the plan to keep current Pier B linked to T3 remains although the plan is to start site clearance after the full closure of T1 retaining essentially the corridor link from T3 to B

Check-In and Security once T1 closes - the current working proposal which is being considered is to use Ground and 1st Floor or the T3 MSCP (refurbished and repurposed of course).

Check in would be on Ground with Escalators up to the "new" T3 security area which would then funnel pax out through existing 1st floor link bridge into the new departures lounge.

This solution would remove some parking spaces which would be replaced elsewhere but the footprint required for this solution would mean fairly minor remodelling of the car park and deliver a fast workable solution that makes the most of the current floor area of the combined disused checkin areas, and departure lounge.

I was quite shocked when I first heard this was being considered but the more I think about the more it seems to make sense as an affordable / workable solution that wont disrupt ops while it happens and will be suitable for what will to all intents and purposes be Manchesters LoCo terminal.

Who knows we might even see an escape lounge on level 2 above security if it can make more per m2 than car parking does!

Yes first flight went off 203L yesterday. Not bussed. 3 departures today and arrivals.

Thanks for the update. Interesting to hear that the carpark conversion is being considered as an option for check in / security. I agree that although it sounds awful, this could be an attractive medium term option for MAG. It allows full closure of T1 and improvements to T3 to happen at a relatively cheap price. Drop off/pick up for T3 can remain as it is.

A cost effective medium term option to maximise T3 capacity and allow the T1 site to be redeveloped for future growth.

A quick update, the chart in post #2263 is not effective until December. I'm just sat at the airport and the dual taxiways are not yet in use. There was also no sign of any aircraft on Pier 2.

Suspect will be quite a while before dual taxiway fully operational. Most of it still sectioned off between B and C and to runway. No lines painted yet. Probably have fo wait until sustained clement weather!

I guess its not insurmountable but linking the baggage system to that area is my biggest potential downside but who knows !

Any plans on the immigration area at 3. Although low numbers passing through it can often be chaotic with passengers coming from both sides then off 50 as well.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
