VCC is a fancy term for the large remote stand bussing point near stand 308
It’s more than that. The vertical bit is the hint; there’s lifts, stairways and escalators to allow vertical transition from T2X to the legacy gates, domestic arrivals to keep segregated from the legacy international arrivals pier, and a direct international arrivals route to immigration from the bus.

There’s also a separate longer escalator in the west end and separate from the others that is an odd one.

Not that I think it looks good.

Lifts and escalators too? Sounds amazing. Move over Changi and Doha :)

Just seen a photo of fencing around the small Jet2 building where stand 209/210 used to be. Possibly finally coming down? Would enable new stands 309/310 to be activated…?

Egypt built the pyramids and Mag built the architectural wonder that is the Vcc🤣😜
The only thing they didn’t think to do is build a 2 metre (less?) connection to adjacent gate’s pepper pot to provide a segregated route for domestic arrivals. Why? Why not do it retrospectively?

The domestic arrivals experience at MAN is now beyond disgusting. And the fact I am led to believe it will be a bussing operation forever is just so upsetting ... I used to hate T3 but now I long for the good old days of T3 ...

It’s being converted back into a bussing gate.

Will add 4 bussing gates - just getting an internal re-fit.

The Jet2 building is actually where the equivalent ‘312’ would be. 309 / 310 will re-open in the future as remote stands regardless.

We are going to get a nicer permanent bus drop off point later this year, but yes it’s always going to be busing for arrivals now. And yes I would rather be back in t3 as well primarily because of this.

New airfield layout plans live in Feb have been released showing Echo as an active taxiway.

Can anyone confirm if this notam is still active (30/3 is the proposed end date)

Taxiway Delta centreline lighting is unserviceable between D2, D5, and Link 2; follow-me service available.

I'm assuming by this the follow me car is needed when its dark of low visibility?
Interestingly the A380 chart has also been published, from this it looks like nothing can get from the runways to a stand on pier C /1/2 until the A380 has traversed to/from stand?

Thanks for the info.
Yes, I’ve just checked the NOTAM’s and for it’s still valid ending on 30th March.

I’m pretty sure aircraft are now and can do in the future use taxiway Echo whilst the A380 uses taxiway Delta. Although maybe there is a restriction in aircraft size using the dual taxiway when the A380 is taxiing?

Good point - I hadn't spotted that

Assuming dual taxiway will eventually be 'dual' ops between Pier 1 and 2

Assuming dual taxiway will become parallel ops at end of Pier 2, once cargo shed remotes come on line and legacy western apron remote stands are removed...

Currently plan is for stands 69-74 to remain through the summer and operate like Quebec used to, whereby in the day it’s a taxiway and at night it reverts back to being stands.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
