They will remain pier served stands for the time being. The above post was regarding remote stands.

There’s some wild speculation elsewhere with regards to the easyJet move in November. They are being moved from the T1/3 site to allow major works to take place for which there is simply no capacity to undertake these works whilst the terminal is in use. T3 airside will close for redevelopment in stages so FR will be using T1 gates. This is planned until T1 check in finally closes in 2030. There’s not enough room for both EZY/FR to both use T1 without a serious bussing operation. I fully expect EZY to return to the future T1 in coming years once the next stage of works are complete. Out of the two airlines, Ryanair shout the loudest, with increased taxi times to T2 among the reasons.

easyJet will use Zone C in T2 from 19th November.

Thank you for the input as always! I have ofc been worried about EasyJet's move to T2 due to lack of contact stand space, but this update makes it understandable why the move will now take place.

Will be interesting to see the final plans for T3 are, especially as you mentioned that T1 check-in will close in 5 years time. I did see the MAG post back in May, but the new entrance and security equipment that was mentioned made me think it would just be regarding the move to T1. Exciting stuff to come!

You also have stands 1, 5, 7, 9, 11 & 15 the other side of pier B which I believe are the stands Ryanair will use.
Yes ofc! Looking back I slightly misread the message and thought the top row was the east Pier B stands when indeed they're not. Easily Done😂

Following CCGE29 insight i have heard a couple of possible likely rumours.

Let me stress we are deeply im rumour territory but my source is involved in the plan.

Pier C to be joined to end of Legacy east with a number of portacabin style corridors keeping departing and arriving segregated.

T3 check in. Once the airside refurb is complete and pier B is part of current T3 with T1 check in to close and old T1 to be demolished, check in for T3 will relocate to Olympic house ground floor, security above and a link to t3 airside.

All rumours but these are being kicked around as solutions

Had a feeling Pier C would be linked to legacy eastern pier. Been in alot of artists impressions! Portakabins wtf!

The talk of portacabins and the use of repurposing an office block for check in, hardly fit the narrative that MAG would like give of the North’s gateway to the world. I get it will be functional and deliverable relatively quickly, but what on earth happened to their planning and future proofing?

Is this how MAG won’t to sell Manchester and the North?

It makes good sense as a temporary measure pending a comprehensive refurbishment of the T1/T3 complex, but not as a permanent solution. The portacabin corridors will save a fortune in bussing (and prevent potential delays linked to this). Physical check-in at the airport is a minority resource for Ryanair Group (the only operator in there) ... customers pay a fortune if they haven't checked in online before reaching the airport. So the only need of consequence pre-security is a baggage drop zone of sufficient scale.

So in today’s news..

Pier 2 is now airside! Fencing coming down on the northern side of the pier today. The airbridge on 210 will be installed after the removal of the fencing over the coming week or so.

Line painting next..

Thanks for the info and great news! It seems pier 2 has taken much longer to complete when compared to pier 1, but it is what it is.

I assume the dual taxiway system will also become operational once pier 2 is operational too?

I’d hazard pier 1 had the luxury of being on the edge of the apron? I have it taking around 21 months. Pier 2 is looking like around 27 months (originally 23)

If anyone really wants to geek out we drove around T2X every few months with a camera. In fact, for ultimate geekiness here’s the full set (hopefully in order!)

Watching live stream, Blue Sky Aviation. Looks like airbridge been removed completely on stand 29, Pier C satalliate?
Stand 29 I believe was one of the two stands that had one of the two airbridges removed, so maybe that's what you're seeing?

Regarding terminal move dates, Aer Lingus' proposed date is just over two weeks away, so unless this has changed I'm assuming the announcement for some airlines will come very shortly? Believe last year it was announced around this time of year though Aurigny was only a weeks notice, and I can imagine some of the bigger airlines at MAN will need a more in advance announcement given the amount of passengers they take.

I wonder if the long term ambition is to keep adding piers until eventually it's a 6 pier airport? Pier 6 would be a continuation of 50-58 stands, which are nearly parallel to Pier 1.

As the funds come available, Pier 3 will be next. The next massive commitment would be to demolish T1 and add further Piers 4 & 5.

Possible in next 100 years! Pier 3 is probably at least 10 years off. Looks like some degree of make do and mend consolidation on its way. What with rumours Pier C going to be physically linked to T2 with portakabins!

There is an image floating around showing that but it’s unverified.

Where will all the airlines check in after all the terminal moves happen? I’m pretty sure Emirates will have Zone A and EasyJet will have C but where will all the others go? Pretty sure there’s not enough room for all other airlines (E.G SAS, Icelandair, BA) will all be able to fit in just Zone B!

It’s dynamic. Theyll move around as needed (I’m sure they’ve planned that they’ll have enough at any one time )

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
