2.2 During the times specified no aircraft shall land or take-off, start or test engines.
2.3 Aircraft will however be permitted to taxi.

1.0 SUMMARY
In order to safely accommodate organised public firework displays in the vicinity of the aerodrome, flight
operations will be suspended for a 15-minute period on both Thursday 5th and Saturday 7th November
2020.
2.0 SCOPE
2.1 This notice has relevance to all airfield users operating on the evenings of Thursday 5th November 2020
and Saturday 7th November 2020.
3.0 PROGRAMME
3.1 An agreement has been reached with local community organisations to undertake all organised firework
displays between 20:15 and 20:30 hrs local on the dates listed at paragraph 2.1.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 All flight operations will be suspended on both Thursday 5th and Saturday 7th November 2020 between
the hours of 20:15 and 20:30 local. Departing aircraft will be permitted to taxi but not take-off. Inbound
aircraft will not be allowed to make an approach (except in an emergency) and suld anticipate a short
period of air holding. It may be advisable for flights operating into Manchester airport at this time to
carry additional holding fuel.
5.0 PROMULGATION OF INFORMATION
5.1 Flight crews will be advised via NOTAM and by ATC on first contact with Manchester.

1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 A one-day programme of work to carry out upgrades to the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure
affecting Terminal 2.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Work is scheduled to take place on Saturday 7th November 2020.
2.2 The nominal working hours will be 09:00 to 17:00L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 The upgrade will take place in Data Centres 1 and 3 within Terminal 2 (T2), in the R2/3 Substation on the
south side of the airfield and in ‘R’ Substation next to West Gate Security.
3.2 The work will involve reconfiguring the network switches within Data Centres 1 & 2, and R Substation,
and cabling in the R2/3 substation.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 The works will affect all Terminal 2 extension systems fed by the IT network; these include but are not
limited to: Terminal 2 Extension and Pier, T2 Multi-Storey West Car Park payment station, Little Staff
West Car Park lift intercoms (local alarms will still function), Car Park access/egress barriers, Flight
Information Display Screens (FIDS), WiFi, Fixed Electrical Ground Power (FEGP) Swipe, Common Use
Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) and PremiAir.
4.2 Border Force systems, Digital Radios, emergency Lighting systems, landline phones and Fire Alarm
systems, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, older areas of T2 including the T2 service yard and T2 staff channel
will not be affected by the upgrade. Furthermore, the upgrades will not cause a loss of power.
4.3 The access control system will store all permit information locally and, therefore, access/egress through
the stand doors will still be available.
4.4 Additional car park marshaller’s will be in place within the carpark to assist during the outage.
4.5 Mitigation has been put in place to ensure that all systems are fully operational at the end of the shift.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)
5.1 Overall, the work has no impact on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility.

2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Work will take place on the nights of Tuesday 3rd to Thursday 5th November, inclusive.
2.2 The nightly working hours will be 22:30 – 06:00L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 Overall, the three nights of work will include the following tasks:
 Multiple asphalt pavement repairs and over‐banding along the length of Runway 05L‐23R.
 Cut & seal, maxi‐flex, over‐banding and asphalt patch repairs on Taxiway Alpha between Runway
Holding Point (RHP) A1 and the junction with Taxiway Bravo.
 Routine runway maintenance tasks including painted surface marking refreshment, AGL repairs
and AGL bolt checks.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Runway Operations
4.1.1 During the Runway 05L‐23R closure periods (22:30‐06:00L) all flight operations will take place on Runway
05R‐23L.
4.2 Taxiway Restrictions
4.2.1 Taxiway Alpha, between RHP A1 and its junction with Taxiway Bravo will be closed between 22:30 and
06:00L on the nights of Tuesday 3rd – Thursday 5th November, inclusive.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO)
5.1 In the event of forecast low visibility, the night works will be cancelled and Runway 05L‐23R will remain
open.
5.2 In the event of un‐forecast reduced visibility conditions (meeting the criteria for LVP Alert) during the
Runway 05L‐23R closure period when work has begun, the aerodrome will close to flight operations
whilst the runway is recovered. An ‘AD Closed’ NOTAM will be issued in such circumstances.

ceiling criteria to be met prior to start of works.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Works are scheduled to take place on Tuesday 3rd November 2020; Wednesday 4th and Thursday 5th November will serve as contingency days should completion of the work suffer a delay.
2.2 Daily working times will be 08:00 – 17:00L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION
3.1 Testing of AGL control software to allow the future activation of taxiway centreline lighting on Taxiways
November-Alpha and Zulu.
3.2 Work will take place in WA6a Substation situated at the head of Stand 929.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS (08:30 – 16:30L)
4.1 The AGL on Taxiways November-Alpha and Zulu will be lit at times during testing.
5.0 WEATHER MINIMA
5.1 Work will be postponed if the weather is forecasted to deteriorate below the following minima: Visibility

1.0 SUMMARY
A five-week programme of work to install new pipe work into three Valve Chambers and to soak test and
flush out the associated linked section of the fuel hydrant system pipework.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Overall, the work will commence on the Monday 16th November and will be completed by Friday 18th December 2020.
2.2 Working hours will be 07:30 to 19:00L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 The work will involve the following tasks:
• Access to fuel valve chambers and features.
• Hydrant cleaning between VC5 and VC7.
• Pipework installation in VC5, VC6 and VC7.
• Flood up and soak hydrant between VC5 and VC7.
• Opening the valves in the new section of the hydrant system to flush fuel through.

3.2 The work will be located on Stand 72, Stand 807, Stand 809, stand 811 and the road system opposite Stand 104.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Aircraft Fuel Hydrant System
4.1.1 The Terminal 2 hydrant system will be depressurised during these works. However, the section of hydrant
affected by the valve chamber works can be isolated to facilitate repressurisation if necessary.
4.2 Stand Restrictions
4.2.1 Any Terminal 2 cargo operations requiring fuel will be parked on stands fed by the Terminal 1 fuel hydrant
system.
4.2.2 Access will be required to fuel hydrant valve chambers located on Stands 72, 807 and 811.
4.2.3 Access to the valve chamber on Stand 72 will be required for approximately two hours. This is
provisionally planned for Wednesday 18th November. If required, an aircraft may be parked on the stand
prior to works commencing in the valve chamber.
4.2.4 The aircraft parked on Stand 811 will be repositioned such as to allow unrestricted access to the valve
chamber (VC7) to the rear of the stand.
4.2.5 If required, an aircraft may be parked on Stand 807 prior to works commencing in the valve chamber (VC6).
4.3 Road Restrictions
4.3.1 Active traffic management will be in place whilst work takes place within the valve chamber in the road
system opposite Stand 104.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)
5.1 The work will have no effect on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility.

1.1 Due to the outbreak of COVID‐19 and a consequential reduction in the demand for air travel, revised
airport operating arrangements will be in place up to and including 2nd December 2020. This period may
be extended or reduced if necessary and will be subject to ongoing consultation and notification.
2.0 SCHEDULED ARRIVING FLIGHTS
2.1 Passenger operations will take place from Terminal 1 only.
2.2 The scheduling of arriving flights will be permitted 24 hours each day.
2.3 Arriving domestic flights will be processed via the T3 arrival process.
3.0 SCHEDULED DEPARTING FLIGHTS
3.1 Passenger operations will take place from Terminal 1 only.
3.2 Scheduling of departing flights will only be permitted between the hours of 05:30L – 23:00L. Passenger
security processing will be available from 03:30L – 22:30L.
4.0 EXEMPTIONS
4.1 Flights exempt from the departure scheduling detailed in 3.1 above hours are as follows: ‐

4.2 Aircraft operators are permitted to file Manchester Airport as a pre‐planned diversion alternate. With

5.0 AERODROME OPERATIONS
5.1 Runway Operations will be available between the following times:

1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 A programme of up to two weeks’ work to carry out essential pavement repairs on portions of Taxiways
Echo, Lima & November‐Charlie. The work will be carried out at night and will move progressively from
abeam Stand 25 northwards to abeam Stand 31.

2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Overall, the work will commence on the night of Sunday 6th December and will be completed by the
morning of Friday 18th December 2020. Work will take place Sunday to Thursday nights, inclusive.
2.2 The above programme dates include contingency nights to be used in the event of poor weather
restricting works progress.
2.3 The nominal nightly working times will be 22:30 – 05:30L.

3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 The programme of work will entail carrying out several types of repair at multiple locations on Taxiways
Echo, Lima & November‐Charlie.
3.2 Overall, the required work will commence on Taxiway Lima, abeam the rear of Stand 25 and will generally
progress northwards along Taxiway Echo and a small portion of Taxiway November‐Charlie as far as the
rear of Stand 31. See attached drawing showing overall expanse of works
3.3 Various types of pavement repair will be used, including:
 Maxi‐crete.
 PQX concrete.
 Cut & Seal.
 Asphalt patch.

4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Taxiway Restrictions
4.1.1 Whilst night‐time work is in progress on Taxiways Echo, Lima & November‐Charlie, localised portions of
taxiway will be closed, as required.
4.1.2 Nightly closed portions of taxiway will be demarked by lit, mobile barriers and extinguished taxiway
centreline lighting.
4.2 When working locations allow, Taxiway Quebec will be available as a by‐pass route for aircraft.
4.2.1 Taxiway Quebec has an unlit painted yellow centreline, therefore, night‐time aircraft movements along
Taxiway Quebec will be guided by an Airfield Operations Follow‐Me vehicle.
4.2.2 There will be several pavement repair locations which will also require the closure of Taxiway Quebec.
The timing of repairs in these locations will be coordinated between the contractor and Airfield
Operations such that they are carried out during periods of zero planned aircraft movements.
4.3 Aircraft Parking Stand Restrictions
4.3.1 The nightly working hours and locations will be coordinated such that planned aircraft arrivals onto Pier
C Stands 21‐32 (those immediately impacted by the work) will be unaffected, however, it should be noted
that once aircraft are parked on Stands 21, 23, 25, 27, 29 and 31, they may need to remain in‐situ until
completion of pavement repair work the following morning.
4.3.2 In the event of an aircraft needing to be pushed back off a stand in the vicinity of, but not immediately
affected by ongoing works, there may be a requirement for a non‐standard pushback manoeuvre to be
carried out, as directed by ATC.
4.4 Apron Road System
4.4.1 Within the overall works programme there will be up to three working nights during which the portion
of apron road crossing Taxiway Echo between West Gate and the rear of Stand 29 will be either restricted
to one operational lane or closed entirely.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO)
5.1 The work will have no impact on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility.
5.2 In the event of forecast reduced visibility conditions (meeting the criteria for LVP Vis) the planned night
work will be cancelled.
5.3 In the event of un‐forecast reduced visibility conditions(meeting the criteria for LVP Vis) prevailing whilst
work is already underway, all work will be curtailed at the earliest opportunity.

3.1 The aerodrome will temporarily close and all operations will be suspended for a fifteen‐minute period
from 13:10L on the afternoon of Wednesday 2nd December.
3.2 Additionally, a thirty‐minute period of zero flow rate will be applied from 13:10L on Wednesday 2nd
December.

4.0 PURPOSE
4.1 The purpose for the temporary aerodrome closure is to allow for electrical testing work to take place in
the Air Traffic Control Tower building, prior to a planned programme of essential, high voltage electrical

1.1 Three new remote stands, namely 925, 927, 929 are to be introduced into service.

2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 New Stands 925, 927 and 929 will be introduced into service on Friday 18th December 2020.

3.0 LOCATION
3.1 The new stands are located off Taxiway Zulu, in the area of the former Stands 73 and 74.

4.0 STAND CAPABILITY
4.1 The new stands will be capable of accommodating aircraft up to a maximum size of ICAO Code C (36m
wingspan ‐ B737/ A321).
4.2 All new stands will be equipped as follows:
 Aircraft fuel hydrants.
 Apron mounted, single output Fixed Electrical Ground Power units (90KVA).
 FOD bins, emergency telephone and fire extinguisher.
N.B: Due to ongoing consolidation of operations due to Covid‐19, the portion of the aircraft fuel hydrant
system serving the Western Apron (including the new stands) is currently switched off.
4.3 Aircraft docking on all new stands will be via Safedock AVDGS.
5.0 AIRCRAFT PUSHBACK PROCEDURES
5.1 Standard aircraft pushback procedures for the new stands are already included within the current

1.0 SUMMARY
A circa four‐week programme of work to install new pipework into three aircraft fuel hydrant valve
chambers and to soak test and flush out the associated section of the fuel hydrant system pipework.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Overall, the work will commence on the Monday 11th January and will be completed by Tuesday 2nd
February 2021.
2.2 Daily working hours will be 07:30 to 19:00L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 The scope of work will involve the following tasks:
 Access to aircraft fuel valve chambers (VC) and features.
 Access to fuel vent (V11) located on Taxiway Echo abeam Stand 72.
 Hydrant cleaning between VC5 and VC7.
 Pipework installation in VC5, VC6 and VC7.
 Flood up and soak hydrant between VC5 and VC7.
 Opening the valves in the new section of the hydrant system to flush fuel through.
3.2 The work will be located on Stands 72, 807‐811 and the apron road system opposite Stand 104.
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Aircraft Fuel Hydrant System
4.1.1 The Terminal 2 aircraft fuel hydrant system will remain depressurised during these works due to the
ongoing consolidation of aircraft operations into Terminal 1. However, the section of hydrant system directly
affected by the valve chamber works can be isolated to facilitate re‐pressurisation of the Terminal 2 system, if necessary.
4.1.2 The section of the aircraft fuel hydrant system serving Terminals 1 and 3 will be unaffected by this work.
4.2 Stand Restrictions
4.2.1 Any Terminal 2 cargo operations requiring aircraft fuelling will be parked on stands fed by the Terminal
1 fuel hydrant system.
4.2.2 Access will be required to aircraft fuel hydrant valve chambers located on Stands 72, 807 and 811.
4.2.2.1 The above stands will be closed whilst work is in progress, however any aircraft already parked on stand
may remain in‐situ.
4.2.2.2 If the stands are required for aircraft parking, aircraft must be manoeuvred onto stand prior to the start
of works and must remain on stand until the completion of works each day.
4.3 Apron Road Restrictions
4.3.1 Active traffic management will be in place whilst work takes place within the aircraft fuel hydrant valve
chamber (VC5) located in the apron road system opposite Stand 104.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)
5.1 The work will have no effect on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility.

I see, out of interest, that Ethiopian appear to have an exemption to the 1700hrs timing restriction. The ET729 was still showing as a scheduled departure of 1855 and actually left, according to FR24, at 1923hrs. Good to see that commonsense might have prevailed at the airport.

UPDATED: COVID-19 TEMPORARY OPERATING ARRANGEMENTS

1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation and a substantial reduction in demand following the introduction
of a national lockdown, revised airport operating arrangements will be in place until 15th February 2021.
This period may be extended subject to the ongoing national situation.
2.0 SCHEDULED ARRIVING FLIGHTS
2.1 Passenger operations will take place from Terminal 1 only.
2.2 A scheduling restriction will be applied between the hours of 22:01L and 04:00L daily, therefore the
scheduling of arriving flights will be only be permitted between 04:01L and 22:00L daily.
2.3 Arriving domestic flights will be processed via the T3 arrival process.
3.0 SCHEDULED DEPARTING FLIGHTS
3.1 Passenger operations will take place from Terminal 1 only.
3.2 Scheduling of departing flights will only be permitted between the hours of 07:00L and 17:00L daily.
3.3 Passenger security processing will be available between 05:00L – 17:00L only
3.4 In exceptional circumstances, departures maybe scheduled up to 17:30L, subject to the approval of the
Airport Operator.
4.0 EXEMPTIONS
4.1 Flights exempt from the arrival and departure scheduling restriction detailed in 2.2 and 3.2 are as follows:
• Cargo Flights
• Private General Aviation Flights operating through private terminal facilities
• Positioning, Training and Maintenance Flights
4.2 Aircraft operators are permitted to file Manchester Airport as a pre-planned diversion alternate. With
the exception of aircraft in an emergency, all flights are to seek pre-authorisation (PPR) from Airfield
Operations on telephone number +44 (0)161 489 3331.
5.0 AERODROME OPERATIONS
5.1 The aerodrome will remain operational 24hrs each day.
5.2 The Rescue and Fire Fighting (RFFS) will operate as follows:
• Category 7 (categories 8 and 9 will be accepted under remission) – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Category 8 (categories 9 and 10 will be accepted under remission) – by prior arrangement
5.3 Example category 7 aircraft – B737-800/A320
Example category 8 aircraft – B767
Example category 9 aircraft – B777
Example category 10 aircraft – A380
5.4 Air Traffic Services will operate as follows:
• 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
6.0 EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
6.1 • Emergency notification and alerting revert to normal operations:
o Via RTF to ATC
o By calling 0161 489 2222 or 2222 from an internal phone
7.0 GROUND HANDLING, FUEL & ANCILLARY ACTIVITIES
7.1 All aircraft operators must ensure Ground Handling and Into-plane fuelling support is available at all
times.
7.2 Fuel will only be available on T1 and T3 stands with the exception of remote stands 61 – 65.
