I see our delicate friends G….A are at it again. This time apparently a loca businessman has his sleep so disturbed he may have to close down his operation 🤣🤣. You really couldn’t make this stuff up🤣 https://www.wharfedaleobserver.co.uk/news/25460591.local-businessman-says-night-flights-blighting-life
what a load of bullocks literally.
As said before airport been here longer than he has. Who in there right mind buys a house under flight path if they are light sleepers?

Positive news story about Sustainable Air Fuel investment by the govt at LBA?

Great chance for BBC Look North/Spencer Stokes to open the story with footage of a plane landing in a cross wind!?

Couldn't make it up
My thoughts exactly. Old footage and obviously couldn't resist a dig about wind. Preferable to our noisy NIMBYs though and short but sweet input from Steve Heapy (Jet2) and Katie White MP, who seems to be showing a positive interest in LBA (well I never!!) as well as Vince Hodder.

It’s funny that Spencer Stokes came up in the chat today as it’s noticeable to me that GALBA seem to have lost influence or access to some of the journos who pumped out their side of story without ever properly challenging their angle or claims. Mr Stokes seems to have reined it in and someone at either the YP or the T&A group looks to have moved on. Instead, GALBA now seem to resort to using citizen journalist sites such as the Yorkshire Byline.

They have issued one such story today. In one sense, it’s the tried and tested approach of maximum hubris and minimum awareness of the world of aviation outside of LS19. As just one example, the very title ‘the people vs leeds bradford airport’ is one of their classic tricks. Much better to make it sound like they are large in number, flighting an elitist minority instead of acknowledging the reality that they are a few hundred in number and hundreds of thousands use the airport (and other airports) each year.

Anyway, it’s worth reading as it provides their perspective in the CLUED ruling and why, as it stands, they believe it is actually good news for the airport.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
