Is it just me or are the bizjet/turbo movements off the scale at the moment. I have made 5 cops today and there are another load due tomorrow
Its never really diminished from the surge experienced during the pandemic. Maybe more people have realised that if costs are split a private flight is a viable option for them. The industry is certainly booming despite the efforts of some to ban such flights and put an entire industry out of work.

Could be LUFC related!
Inbounds today ftom Stuttgart, Dortmund, and Milan. All potential sources of players for Leeds United. But all potentially nothing to do with football. Going now to checkout the location of the clubs players being linked with Leeds to see if there's any matches.

Update. No links I can see with Germany but Leeds do like to spring the occasional surprise. Leeds' main target seems to be Jaka Bijol who plays for Udinese in NE Italy. It's not too far from Venice, but within travel distance of Milan. A possibility, but I refuse to get excited.

Update.

Leeds also want Habib Diarra, who plays for Strasbourg. Although in a different country, Stuttgart isnt far from Strasbourg.

Good idea for Plane Tree Hill, Unfortunately it is Common Land. The local authority has to have, by law, a certain amount of such land within it's area. There was some Common Land in Horsforth that was required for something or other, so the designation was given to Plane Tree Hill to be Common Land. enabling the local authority to have the correct amount of such land!
There was a small piece of Plane Tree Hill that was used to add to the area near the Jet2 maintenance building
It was closed off because of alleged drug dealing and other unsociable behaviour

It was closed off to vehicles due to drug dealing, noise created by illegal use of off road bikes, a night time activity that's nothing to with dog owners (!!) which Peter Kay explains adequately in 'Car Share' and rowdy, annoying plane enthusiasts cluttering it up.

OK, I made that last one up. 🙂

I seem to recall too that there were concerns regarding accidents as cars left the area turning g right on to Bayton Lane (towards Yeadon). This exit was just over the brow of the hill when travelling from Horsforth, and there was clearly the potential for collisions as a result. Removing vehicles from Plane Tree Hill removed that risk instantly.

However, there's nothing stopping people on foot viewing the airport from up there if they don't mind a short walk but there os a real potential they'll get blown away , very wet or both at certain times.

Can Common Land not be developed for use by 'the people' as a recreational space? It seems daft it being there and unused. It's not even attractive. Just a big messy area that could be really nice with some landscaping. There again, developing it isn't likely to be high on the Councils list of things to do even if it were possible .

Oh dear WH you are taxing my memory now. This happened in the 70s.
As far as I can remember Common Land is open all people. Going back into history it is where the 'common man' could graze cattle and collect wood!
If I can find my Countryside Act book I'll have a look to see if there is anything of interest to pass on.
The nearest point you can get a car near Plane Trees Hill is park on the stub of Yeadon Moor Road, which is off Bayton Lane. This is also the exit from the south side- near the old emergency control tower.

Development on Common Land MAY be permissible if another piece of suitable land can be found

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
