I have it on good authority that Look North were sniffing around on Saturday trying to get some "windy" landings. There was apparently also an opportunity to speak to them. Shame I wasn't around else they may just have got a piece of my mind, especially if it was SS that was there
Pitty, the wind was straight down the runway.

The reporter was Dave Edwards and it didnt appear to be a negative report. Looked like he was near the fence by the tunnel from memory

Well, I can tell you they've already made their case for Rule 6 status successfully and their in. They will be there fighting to damage our airport in March, assuming they have the money which I'm sure they will given there is clearly support from their anti aviation mates around the UK.

Let's hope there's some supportive public in there too giving them a rough ride. No doubt the BBC and their anti airport reporter will have it in their diary already so they can give them a prime time interview.
Won’t make a jot of difference to the outcome either way - their arguments will have already been shared with LBA when LCC was looking at the CLUEDs- the Council had an obligation then to share any information they received. The inspector also has an obligation to share with the airport any information received prior to the enquiry. It is the same KC they used before when the Council was looking at the CLUEDs so the airport will be well aware of the great unwashed position.
I really don’t know why they bother with this KC on planning applications- I presume she is some eco warrior giving the anti aviation lobby a cheap rate! She has lost every case she has been involved in re airport development elsewhere and at LBA - she simply repeats the same mantra and arguments which have been rejected by both the planning inspectorate and the High Court! She also was appalling on the video link to the LBA planning enquiry - stumbling her notes and timed out before she could present her full case…..

Oh I forgot she also lost the London City airport case just this summer🤣

Yes, no secrets with this inquiry. LBA will he made aware of their arguments. They're already aware of them participating and expected it.

Dr Lois Lane? Did Superman turn up too? 😄

This is a copy of the reply I got from LBAs director who is in charge of all things CLEUD related.
It’s just called a public inquiry as it’s open for the public to attend, but not participate in. The arguments are made by Barristers on both sides.
Given that they who cannot be named (TWCBN) can now participate either LBA were misinformed or they did not want to tip off the opposition regarding Rule 6 status. I suspect there’s a lot of cat and mouse going on. Let’s hope whoever chairs this inquiry has a strong arm to keep TWCBN’s Barrister on the straight and narrow and not allow her to regurgitate all the old arguments that are irrelevant to this purely legal matter.

Ideally she will wander off into the realms of the irrelevant, be put to rights by the Inspector, persist, and eventually be disregarded as a representative of a bunch of NIMBYs .

Im still bitter about the brand spanking new terminal not going ahead (even though LCC did approve) which does show them in a positive light for supporting LBA. Hopefully down the line we can get the planning permission over the line to build a new terminal.

I did hear somewhere council / gov was encouraging building on green land (not sure how true) & don't shoot the messenger.

The Councillors are being recommended to accept the proposals, but yet to be voted on. Let’s hope they hold their nerve and don’t capitulate in the face of the considerable (and predictable) opposition. As others have said a positive vote would be a boost for LBA’s chances as the circumstances (a hopelessly out of date agreement restricting growth) are almost identical.

Do you mean the Leeds planning committee are being recomnended to vote in favour of the airports interpretation of the final cleud?

No Birmingham, apologies for any confusion. If only the Leeds Councillors were being recommended to vote to extend night flying at LBA!
First, they'd need a planning application requesting that. No planning submission so they can't consider the matter whether for or against. The entire reason for the CLEUDS was to determine the matter on a legal basis without any opportunity for political shenanigans and self interest which are a given whenever the Plans Panel become involved.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
