Wish they would crack on and get rid of the bus shelter as soon as possible, its getting in the way and spoiling our well design clean look extention!
Far as im aware to bits to be fitted externally are those dark tinted windows and on the landside the darker section at the bottom, once done in my opinion it will really bring it to life as currently its looking a bit dull.
Suspect it will be the last job, or one of the last jobs, to demolish the western end of the walkway. Probably in Spring.

II can't believe after £100m development, and we still have a very embarrassing portacabin at gate 14. Surely they could build something better.
They can't, as it needs planning consent. If the original plans from 2017 didn't include ' anything better' they can't do it now as it's not part of the approved scheme. There's no way LBA would have submitted another application and put the entire scheme at risk just for that.

They can apply for consent for something better later, when this scheme is done and safe from sabotage by politically motivated councillors. Such as this portakabin and a proper pier can be applied for together in the future and are likely to be approved as they don't really increase passenger throughput. They are more intended to improve passenger comfort and airport organisation.

I would`nt be too sure about the spiteful sabotage...Some have such a hatred for a privately owned jobs provider that nothing will stop them venting their spleen..

Don't believe this has been mentioned but 1432 Runway Club now appears to be undergoing interior remodelling, with new walls being erected to segregate the space in preparation for connection to the extension. The lounge is still bookable though the works seem quite invasive. Will snag a photo in the morning.

Thanks WH. Had the contractor been confirmed for P2?
Not at the time of the December CC meeting. I would be surprised though if it's not the same contractor given the overlap in Phases 1 and 2. If not, the period February to May will be very complex with two contractors on site together. Only one can be the lead contractor who is responsible for generating a H&S plan covering both projects. That said, the two phases are very different and phase 2 might not be what the current contractor specialises in. Anyway. I would imagine the winning tender will be announced shortly given the start of phase 2 is only a month away.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 2nd time

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
