Lots more earthworks today compared to yesterday, seem to be digging utility trenches. Piling rig been busy last couple of days. Utility works on entrance road to Mid Stay 2, as well.

My first post on the forums, hope to be posting semi-regular updates where I can.

And most welcome you are!

If you get an opportunity would you grab some photos 📸

There is also some works ongoing to the car parks. The current premium short stay car park will become the meet and greet parking, switching with the current meet & great car park and consuming the short stay to increase capacity.

Yes whats the situation when it comes to road layout and parking, its something thats not really been mentioned on here, is there any plans to change things?

I believe a new exit will be created that leads to the current exit road from the Meet/Greet and Drop Off.

A second exterior car scanner will be placed in the new Meet & Greet car park and layout changes to the parking spaces.

It's a good point but is it necessary? The current layout was constructed by Bridgepoint around 2010? When it was built a terminal extension was planned for the front of the current building. The layout was built to sufficiently handle the passenger traffic of 7mppa.

Site is a lot tidier this week since piling has stopped/paused. Truckloads of earth continue to be moved from piles around the site towards the pax walkway to raise the ground level up to Apron level, shown by the red box.
Apologies, my ability to grab good photos is very limited.

Recent image of the ongoing works. I do have another zoomed in but I cannot post any more attachments.
You would be better using the media galley for things like this.

Out of interest does anyone know if our batch of winds are causing any delays to current construction work? Seriously hoping for much improved weather through the rest of this winter not only to recover diversions but so there is no risk of delays to this terminal work. Would be a shame is max use wasn't in place until 2027? Is there any contingency built in to the current 2026 do we know?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
