During a face to face meeting with the airport management, they told us they were constantly issuing press releases but the press weren't publishing them. Following the meeting we asked to be formally added to the press release mailing list. The Support Group has only received a handful of press releases since then and we have published all of them in our news section. During the same period, most other airports are issuing them almost weekly.
There is nothing to stop LBA from updating and promoting there own success on their social media. Its free, gains a lot of clicks and engages with the community. if the press don't want to post actually informative and useful stories about LBA then so be it. crack on posting Sh*te about DSA the laughable airport from the dead..

LBA do use social media (the one beginning with an F and ending with an K) roughly weekly these days. Teesside however use it at every opportunity, to advise and inform the public. They often repeat info- particularly about their new scanners.

Furthermore they do reply to sensible questions, Ben Houchen even replies to some. Leeds rarely respond.

So, I agree Leeds could and should do more.

We can only hope they are advertising and explaining the benefits the development will bring for airlines, especially those who don’t currently use LBA, better than they are currently doing to the general public.
They are. They've been doing that for some time . We will have to wait to see what success they have with new carriers. The airport are confident the terminal work will make a huge difference in that regard. Let's hope so.

They did put up a post on Social Media in April confirming work was officially underway. Nothing since. What they haven't yet done is show the public what exactly they are doing and how it will look. The fly through video is what's needed. Hopefully the architects will provide something sooner rather than later. It might encourage some extra bookings for summer 2025.

It seems though that LBA have taken a decision to keep a relatively low profile for the time being. No doubt such a decision would be taken in discussion with the airport police, contractors and other stakeholders. I have no doubt at all though that there will be plenty of publicity at a time they think appropriate. Perhaps nearer completion rather than now, with a year still to wait.

I see Liverpool for example being a very good airport at promoting itself on social media. Ive seen a lot of posts from LBA marketing which I personally think are.. not great. Waste of time and in my opinion cringe. Id like to see more factual posts / movements of interest like LPL post. Engage more with that side. For example, let us know FR are basing a third AC today, let us know what route frequencies are increasing / restarting.

They do the last point already. Only last week they posted an article about Aurigny restarting. And one for the Bourgas (Balkan) service, and Marrakech, and plenty of others.

A year ago LBA stated that in due course, whatever that means, their architects would be drawing up plans for display within the terminal, AND a 'fly through video' for public on line ( and maybe in-terminal) viewing, similar to that provided for Project Sky (new terminal).

Presumably the intention to do this remains and it's a question of when rather than if. I will try to find out the answer to 'when' at the next meeting in early July unless it's already happened.
As said previously the plans and photos are on display on the video advertising screens dotted around the terminal. Admitted you have to wait for the various adverts to scroll by before you see them!!

Carnage at Birmingham still. Apparently all departing passengers have to transit from the ground to the first floor using just four lifts.

I can only echo what I think somebody has already said and I do hope LBA has done it's homework with its REGEN project.

We already know that at LBA pax will go upstairs after security via a couple of escalators, adjacent stairs and new lift(s).

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
