Well Hurghada is a little more tricky lol.

On a serious note though you can see where Jet2 are thinking longer term for winter capacity particularly. Sure Cape Verde will follow if they can ensure accommodation for packages. Morocco too will probably expand

For Cape Verde, accomodation availabity is an issue, but the current problem is food hygiene. They have had major issues with shigella and e-coli in hotels, and the islands have very basic health care, so any outbreaks affects large numbers of people and this generates bad publicity. It’s not just in the UK where there have been claims against tour operators, this has also happened in the Nordic countries. Jet2 may wish to enter that market when the issues are resolved, rather than risk any negative publicity.

I wonder if they have considered the Azores - currently not served from UK tour operators but looks to have great tourism potential. Similarly Senegal and Gambia are limited, so have potential.

Interstingly the x2 321 only based (LGW & LTN) don’t feature

I don't think they will. It would appear LTN/LGW will get the destinations Jet2 are established in, have hotel contracts in, decent infrastructure (reps etc) in.

LTN hasn't really grown that much.
LGW - missing 3 turkey destinations (Izmir, Bodrum and Dalaman) plus frequency to Canaries etc. So would imagine they'll allow Egypt to establish its self in bases Jet2 are well known first and foremost.

Before any Leeds forum member kicks off about Egypt not out of Leeds. A bit of common sense tells you it’s from bases with A321 only. Do I expect Egypt to rapidly expand into every other base? YES.
New routes to Sharm and Hurghada from Feb 27. Both 1 x weekly. The routes will continue into summer 27

Seat map indicates 189 seats

No member can moan.

Both Egyptian destinations served from the offset. Nice to see Egypt back on the LBA departure boards.
Presumably these will be the longest flights from Leeds. 5- 5.5 hours?

These will offer great new alternatives to the Canaries, for people like me who think they are largely bland and boring.

I wonder what the aircraft is doing on a Sunday pre Hurghada. If it is a frequent flight I wonder why they cannot have Sharm depart similar timings too. Then again as members of Prune pointed out maybe it's a slot issue down in Sharm.

This will for sure expand. Egypt is what kept Monarch going through the dark times. A huge money turner and profits galore to be made. I suspect a gradual increase but eventually both to be served 4/5 times weekly throughout the winter period.

The opportunity to get into Gatwick has shifted the forward outlook, and things remain fluid, so this could and probably will change again. For example, there’s now no realistic exit plan for the A321ceo subfleet (previously set for 2028), so either more ceos will be added or they’ll be moved on. Operating such a small subfleet isn’t a sustainable logistical setup.

I expect an ongoing review of the 300s to continue throughout 2026, and if necessary, decisions on retirement will be taken as required.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
