Let's hope that's just the airport taking the opportunity to be careful with the numbers and not a sign that the CLEUD decision isn't going to go their way. Of course, it could also be because thete are usually several departures to get away at this time and having to hold them back because there are aircraft on approach can result in missed slots etc.

Being held prior to approach at busy times isn't exactly unusual on single runways. I was once held for 20 minutes before making an approach and that was at Corfu in 1982!

No I'm fairly certain it was due to "night" flying restrictions as it didn't tie in with ground and departure movements. Both aircraft did at least two holds prior to leaving the hold for the approach after 07:00. Both aircraft were also ahead of schedule.

Both are scheduled to arrive after 07:00 and are therefore held off from landing otherwise they would count in the night time quota. The irony being that the aircraft still creates noise as it holds and burns more fuel!

On Wednesday the 28th of May about 16:00 my sister was returning from Catania. They had to hold, the pilot said it was due to congestion on the ground.

Makes sense given the circumstances. LBA say they are currently below their night flying limit but they base that on their (common sense) interpretation of the planning consent, whereas the Council base their figures on the rules as they were in 1994. If the airport lose the CLEUD issue, then being below the limit will very quickly become over the limit. Its all stupid but so typical of the restrictions consistently in place over the years at LBA.

Anyone know why TUI today PMI inbound operated but going out to BFS?

The Sunday rotations Operates out of Belfast Int’l for next few weeks due to summer school holidays falling earlier over in Northern Ireland.

It’s same reason why the Wednesday flight isn’t operating at the moment. That is doing Inverness instead during the Scottish School Holidays.

Both rotations return to LBA mid next month in time of the 6 week English Summer school holidays

Bad news, Eastern Airways Embraer, E190 G-CMWI has gone tech at LBA after arriving on the inbound KLM1023 from Amsterdam. It’s to towed from stand 7 down to stand 12

The delayed outbound KLM1024 to AMS is now showing estimated departure 00:30.

God knows what’s going to operate this evenings night-stopping KLM1025 and tomorrow morning first outbound KLM1018 services.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
