This response maybe too late to be of use but I was in the free 1 hour drop off car park today and recalled your question. There were trollies available but it looked like they had been brought down from the terminal and were left in a purpose built area as you walked towards the airport. I couldn’t confirm that they would always be available.
Thanks managed to pull case 2 bags and little legs up to terminal. Not the best!
Arrived back today Mrs had to go searching for a trolley as we left domestic arrivals not great. Lots of wheel chair though! So as you say we left ours in a safe place as no trolley park. Not the best. Not to mention the wait for the bus to take us a 1 minute walk to terminal.
Yes it's been said before new terminal etc etc but the comments were what I heard from fellow passengers.
Last time we flew and used Lingus we walked.
And before anyone starts i am a supporter of the airport and don't want it to decline due to bad experiences.

I've used the one hour free drop off many times since its opened and can't say I've ever seen any trolleys in the parking area. Those that some have seen will be one's abandoned, before collected by airport staff, that have been brought down by arriving passengers to awaiting cars. Wouldn't rely on any being there when dropping off. Pity as the parking is excellent, within 5 mins of the terminal, relatively flat up to the terminal, albeit no cover when the weather in inclement, and free for one hour. Much better placed in relation to the terminal than most free drop off/pick up parking at other UK airports. Too many people nowadays whinging about the cost of the pick up/drop off parking in front of terminal, same at every other airport, because they can't be arsed to walk a couple of hundred metres, disabled excepted, who I believe get free parking at the terminal. Although this free parking is well sign posted I"m always amazed how many people don't know of its existence.

I also noticed that whilst the majority of Uber collections were up in the “drop off” car park where the customer no doubt foots the charge, the savvy passengers were arranging their Uber pick up from the 1 hour free car park.

I used Uber recently too and from LBA (reluctantly) as the Bus service was shocking and unreliable.. first one came late then when did arrive was full so drove past. on return the bus at 20:05 didn't show and the map showed 2 buses in Leeds city centre. Yes lets build more bus lanes for the bus to run a shocking service. Never again, I will be using my own car and polluting the roads more from now on. the Uber dropped us and picked us up from the drop off car park and we didn't have to foot the bill to exit the car park, it wasn't an extra charge.

Apparently, individual drivers are authorised to use the drop off area, having passed the required security scrutiny, not the taxi company.

Try using the service to commute on 5 days a week, there isnt a week goes by when there is a no show, or full bus and this isnt aimed purely at the A1 service, not mention the mis information on the bus app or bus stop electronic timetable!

Maybe they need double deck buses on the A1! And a more reliable bus operator if such a thing exists.

Just a quick note before I jet off to sunny Malaga for a few days away, got the A1 flyer to the Airport this morning, arrived at 05:36.

From getting off the bus, airport check-in, through security and in departures in 14 minutes. Have to say I am very impressed, especially in the height of the Summer season.

Enjoy your time in Malaga. Out of interest how many passengers were using the A1 flyer service up to the airport this morning?

Thankyou. It was the first one from Leeds at 5am, there were 15/16 people on it. However only 5 of us went to the airport, 2 staff and 3 passengers.
Thank you for your comments. Obviously not very busy. suggesting that the majority of flying passengers are still using other forms of transport, ie car or taxi. Can't see numbers changing using the train when the new proposed staton opens at that time in the morning when first tranch of flights leave LBA, that's assuming the Harrogate line is open at 5am. Leeds City Council really need to get there act together and get the road network sorted to the airport as your figures show few passengers, and I applaud you for using public transport, are willing to use the service buses and any future rail service.

The problem with the A1 buses are they are unreliable. We were going to use the service a few weeks back to LBA for the EZY flight to Belfast on a Tuesday evening. Having used the A1 to commute from Leeds, it can be full before it gets to Wellington Street, especially if its a busy evening at LBA. Or the service is cancelled.
We therefore use a taxi firm £8 to the free drop off.

Not sure how people are supposed to use the early airport buses unless they live along the route? They need to be able to get to a bus stop to catch it and for that, they need either very early buses from where they live or very early trains, neither of which are probably available. So the first buses are almost guaranteed to be quiet.

Maybe that’s a question for Ms Brabin our esteemed WY Mayor🙄. Perhaps the idea is they catch the bus from the integrated cycle routes that she feels are West Yorkshire’s future. Her plans are not only disconnected from public opinion, they are just plain disconnected. I think WY is the only major conurbation in the whole of Europe not to have some form of Tram/guided tram-train or underground, yet she believes her electorate want more cycle and bus lanes to nowhere.

Exactly. We live a 5 minute walk from the A65 and really didn't fancy lugging the case there. Waiting for the bus not to turn up in the British weather and add stress to the journey for £6 when taxi was just £2 more!

The tram was cancelled by the government. Alestare Darling took the cash away after it had been awarded to Leeds The same amount of money was then awarded to Edinburgh for their tram scheme. And who is one of MPs for Edinburgh? Guess who? No prize for the answer.

Exactly. I'm in Scotland and was telling someone about this only an hour ago.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
