Perhaps its due to a downturn in the eastern europe market with the russia/ukraine situation, just a thought? Wish we could get wizz into LBA.Not LBA related but looks like DSA wizz base has been reduced to 1 AC instead of 2
Well Menston will get most of the noise as landing on 14. Horsforth and West Park wont hear much.15 arrivals this eve mainly jet2 between 23.30 and 0300, bring on the noise all landing at our non friendly eco terminal haha
Yes during summer months when the wind is calm they use 14 more at night, less urban.Well Menston will get most of the noise as landing on 14. Horsforth and West Park wont hear much.
It's the preferred runway and to be used for arrivals whenever the wind conditions allow it. For departures, 32 is the preferred runway for the same reason - less population to overfly.Yes during summer months when the wind is calm they use 14 more at night, less urban.
I envy you. Not everyone who wakes up at 2.15am gets free entertainment from jets flying over. Going on FR24 gave you something to do to help you nod off again.I was awake at around 2.15 this morning when a Jet 2 flew over our house. Had a look at FR and there were three all landing one after the other on R14. Damn night flying, I’m joining GALBA!
Sorry but there was. I have seen several LBA announcements in recent weeks regarding the start of services to Dublin with Emerald Airways/Aer Lingus. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they don't exist.I couldn't find a thread for sales and marketing so Im posting here.
Disappointing that Newcastles marketing team have publicised the new Emerald service but there was no similar announcement by the team at LBA.

Emerald Airlines launches Dublin-Newcastle route for Aer Lingus Regional
The route operates five-times-weekly, allowing Dublin-bound customers to connect onto Aer Lingus’ North American networkwww.businesstraveller.com
No doubt Newcastle have promoted the new service elsewhere as well. I was really referring to the 'business traveller' website specifically. I was thinking that business travel is particularly important for a service that links into multiple scheduled services, especially to the USA.Sorry but there was. I am no fan of LBAs marketing regime at all but you are wrong on this occasion.
At a Consultative Meeting last year, the airports marketing consultants did a presentation. Within that they stated that they issue hundreds of press releases to various papers, and publications as well as on line, many of which are not published - basically because their editorial team cannot publish everything submitted about every airport. They pick and choose. They no doubt also have their favoured airports at any one time for whatever reason. No doubt Newcastle have promoted the new service elsewhere as well. These are all valid points. When I had a marketing role I found it helped to target the most relevant publications and speak to them to build up a rapport. It was a relentless process because of changing staff but it got some good results. I also found that paying for advertising brought with it a much better chance of editorial- or even advertorial. Of course it could just be on this occasion Business Traveller were just short of news.At a Consultative Meeting last year, the airports marketing consultants did a presentation. The fact nothing was published in Business Traveller regarding the DUB route does not mean that LBAs marketing people didn't submit it to them. You could argue that the teams at the other airports served by Emerald also failed! You could also argue that Emerald themselves failed too. They launch various routes from DUB yet only NCL gets publicity in this magazine.
Sometimes it seems that there is a lack of understanding as to how the marketing industry works.
Or maybe their editor is a Geordie! These are all valid points. When I had a marketing role I found it helped to target the most relevant publications and speak to them to build up a rapport.
