Now, the wonderful (not) Leeds Live has published an item stating LBA to be the UKs worst airport (although only the busiest 16 were included). This is based on the terminal (a bit harsh given the airports plans were thwarted by the Government and Green Lunatics), and even more so on the number of cancelled flights last year, which at LBA was a huge......2%. Given how few flights operated last year, 2% of not many, is, not many at all! The majority were probably down to one airline that's gone elsewhere now. Again rather harsh given cancellations are usually not something the airport has any say about.

This disgusting rag seems to take such joy in sticking the knife in, with the security queues story yesterday and now this. The editor isn't on GALBAs books by any chance?

Yes a very unscientific survey, by the London based Daily Telegraph that they have quoted. Unsuprisingly, City/Gatwick and Heathrow took top spots. I say unsuprising, because the tour operators who advertise with The Telegraph are London centric operators. They work hand in glove but no excuse for Leeds Live Rag to spout the nonsense they have..I would not doubt that they have more than their fair share of Greenies on the staff..Pathetic really.

It's all about clicks and a negative article about an airport is most likely able to generate a lot of clicks.

Gosh if i ever bumped into sobel i would not hold back with my words and may have to be escorted away!

I unfortunately did where he holds a local surgery in a supermarket. He asked if I there was anything bugging me etc. I told him he was more or less a Tory without been a Tory thanks to his and Labours useless opposition over the last two years and walked of. He hates me but I couldn’t care less. I hope he’s unemployed at the next general election.

I wrote to him and told him never to set foot on my property - or his canvassers. So far, they haven't. Pity really, as I would now love to give him both barrells.

That’s brilliant. Next time add that he and Labour Leeds MP’s are a waste of tax payers money.

The trouble with him and the seat is it was strong Lib Dem. He’s see a resurgence so its now Labour partly thanks to part of his seat been in a studenty area. Conservatives came 2nd last time. I’m not sure who I want to vote for but hope for reform UK candidate. If not it’ll have to be Tory to just get rid of him.

Hope this gets through but internet is third world at the moment in the Canaries but here goes.
A lesson in following Airport and airline advice on transmitting airport and making the whole experience hassle free.
Left LBIA last Wednesday on LS217 to Arrecife.
( Used Twilight Check in at 1530 day before = 20 minutes from 1 hour free car park, check cases in back in the car and away)
Wednesday:
Arrived Security, after being dropped off at above car park, Fast Track (3 couples in queue and around 20 in main queue)
One bag scanner and 6/8 staff. Cleared comfortably inside 10 minutes and having a coffee in Starbucks 5 minutes later. Passenger numbers were quickly growing over next hour.

Flight: Due departure( off stand) 0600. We did.
In the air at 0607.
Tailwinds on the way down and arrived 1056. ( Due 1140). Remote stand.
Controlled disembarkation, row by row ( overhead lockers opened at the same time) front and back of aircraft straight on to buses.
Cleared Passport control, COVID 19 Checks, collected cases and were leaving the airport en route to resort within 20 minutes of touchdown.
Who said air travel was difficult.
PS This was not a dream.

We should run an article on here about how LeedsLive ran a negative campaign to prevent a new terminal from being built and yet then say LBA is the worst airport. You can't make it up.

This needs intervention from high level Sectary of State. It needs rule amending and something needs to be done to get more people airside passes and therefore trained and ready to go. After all it's them incompetent ******** that have caused this through lack of specialised support to the industry and collectively with world governments shutting down travel for something no worse than the flu. I don't and am not expecting much from them tbh. We also need intervention from our useless actress of a Mayor. I'm not expecting much from the waste of space/oxygen and money Leeds Labour Mp's.

As I've already stated ideally need more people on night shift and therefore can open security earlier able to take into consideration the treacle amount of pax that will arrive at 2am/230am/3am etc. If I was travelling I'd be more inclined to travel on an afternoon flight then I would morning. Or if I'm morning flight I'd be arriving 3am no matter what time I travel.

This will be summer for every airport I'm afraid. And as typical for this country we don't want to spend money on improving the technological improvements that have happened last few years. We wont want to spend money on improving terms/conditions for the staff. And we, as a country and as a globe, can be blamed for cutting travel prices right down to it been cheaper to travel to London for example via Spain on 2 flights than via train. This has lead to cutting in terms of pay for jobs in aviation.

But as I've said the blame firmly lies at Grant Shapps and Rishi's door soon followed by Priti Patel's as she pushed through rule changes this summer. Absolute not an ounce of intelligence between the three of them.

Nothing wrong with a bumpy landin!
I think the tweet just shows the extent of the queues in the morning. Which tbf to LBA other airports are having as well.
I’ve seen it for a few days now myself (as I work at LBA). The security teams are doing their best but there’s only so much they can do.

It gets to a point that it gets boring seeing the same thing from people reporting about it on their socials or in articles. The airport have a clear warning on their website. People should check before they travel.

If your traveling with Jet2 it might be a good idea to use twilight check in.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
