Confusion and concern are repeated multiple times in his letter- he really needs to mix up some verbs to create a letter of substance. I think the only confusion is with Mr Sobel, and the only concerns are those of self interest, namely how to maximise his chances of re-election. As an MP, I would expect him to understand due process. He will read legal documents as part of his role and will vote on complex issues. He should therefore know better than to suggest that LBA are circumventing rules and not being transparent. If he is an intelligent person, he should understand that clarity on an issue works for all, not just one party. So LBA, together with the council are seeking to understand how the application of rules affect the airport, and thereafter how the compliance of them is measured. This process will give him, any concerned constituents, the council and the airport clarity. His letter, In my opinion, is nothing more than self serving nonsense.

Working in PR and marketing, and having been involved with marketing airports in years gone by, I have to say LBA really have not got their act together when it comes to positive PR stories. As DSA continues to get high profile publicity and positive news stories even though we know the chances of it re opening are very slim, why does LBA sit back and not talk about its new development and how it is Yorkshires airport and will transform in the next couple of years. They really need to move quickly to show the graphics/video of the changes and need a strong PR team to make sure the media are reporting it, and link it with a positive story of the parkway station which looks like it will be built in the next 3 years.

Sobel and the rest may not like it but for the moment at least they’ve been outmanoeuvred. Legally there is nothing they can do to influence the outcome of the CLUED applications and given he and his mates have done everything they can to oppose and thwart any developments the LBA management may want to carry out if I were them I wouldn’t be looking too kindly at their pleas for more information, which would only be used against the airport.

Been down the footpath today between the golf course and the airport, it’s pretty much impassable without Wellies in one place, just before the footpath bends around to go towards the old pan area, if anyone had time can you report the state of the footpath saying it’s totally waterlogged and it needs looking at, as the council are responsible for keeping a public right if way accessible

Thank you

Your a braver man than many daring to navigate that path. Its always been bad. Years and years ago the golf club diverted a stream down the side of the path forcing water onto the path. It wouldn't be so bad if it was covered in corse gravel.

They have given it some attention in the past. I remember riding my bike on it when it had just been re-covered with tons of smooth pebbles. About 1968.

I played golf at Horsforth three weeks ago. The path around the old runway 01/19 pan was totally overgrown with blackberry bushes and virtually impassable. That's a shame, as there were thousands of big juicy blackberries!

So Rachel Reeves MP, has told the Labour Party conference that they will amend planning laws to make it easier to push through important projects - which is quite funny given her objections to the development of a new and much needed terminal at LBA. Talk about two faced. Obviously the important projects she's talking about dont include Leeds or it's airport. I'm hoping that as she's contesting Leeds West in the next election due to the new constituencies, she'll be up against Stuart Andrew. Neither are any use to LBA but I'll love it if she loses her parliamentary seat next year and doesn't become the new occupant of 11 Downing Street. She's got it coming.

She’s standing for the new Leeds West and Pudsey constituency which will cover Pudsey, Calverley, Rodley, Farsley, Bramley, Stanningley and Armley. Lost from the old Pudsey constituency which Stewart Andrew currently represents are Guiseley, Rawdon and Horsforth which I suspect severely dents his chances of winning this new seat. But like you say, whoever wins will be as useful as a chocolate fireguard to LBA.

The Conservative MP Stewart Andrew Isn't standing at the next general election. He announced a few weeks ago that his stepping down..

I live in the Leeds West seat that's currently held by Labour MP Rachel Reeves, she'll have a much bigger fight on her hands what with the boundary changes compared to previous elections, especially trying to win votes in the Pudsey & Carveley area.

I'm not convinced it's a safe seat for her as some others predict..

As most folk are aware by now I don't live in the Leeds area so she is really of no concern to me but I do share your thoughts and also criticisms of the two faced comments she, and other politicians will make, in the coming months. She lives in South London and spends the bare minimum of time in the constituency so as far as knowing what goes on there, is probably a mystery to her. What isn't a mystery to any of them is how to make glib crap comments on the run up to an election.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
