Loved these, the Air UK regularly did down wind left hand short final for 32 from Belfast when I was a kid, passed directly over our house when turning base. Don't get any interesting approaches nowadays!
I remember the BA Viscounts doing the same approach. I could see them from my primary school.

It's ironic that the aircraft that are 'demonised' as too noisy for night ops - 737-300 and early A320, for example - are the very ones that were lauded as the answer to H24 availability during the Dennison/Savage era, on account of their Chapter Three status. And now, because the likes of the 737 Max and A320NEO make less noise, the previous generation of aircraft isn't acceptable to the GALBA gang. If this course of events takes its logical course then I fear these GALBA ******** won't be themselves silenced until all aircraft are noise-free.

The documents issued ahead of this month's ACC on 22 December, include passenger figures for the 2025/6 fiscal year. Up to and including last week, LBA has had 3,573,164 pax. With just under 4 months until the year end, it appears LBA should comfortably exceed 4.5m pax this year.

By way of a heads up, the December ACC will not have any members of the Executive attending due to its proximity to Christmas, so there will be no Business or Aviation update. I am unsure whether or not I can make it either so if there is any update this month, please don't expect much!

The next ACC is tomorrow afternoon. I was due to attend and report back (despite the fact none of the Executive team will be there, so 'news' might be in short supply). However, my Mum, who is 106, is in a bad way and was admitted to hospital at lunchtime.

Its quite likely therefore that I may need to be at the hospital tomorrow rather than the airport . I have informed Charles Johnson at LBA of the situation and asked that if I am not there, he records my apologies.

Sorry to hear your mum is unwell, sending best wishes

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
