A route more suited to Flybe than T3. And you know what, because Flybe don’t really need competition to help get established, maybe they are going to be the ones that realise LBA’s potential on non bucket and spade routes. Could be win-win for both parties. BE might be in with both SOU and NQY - who knows, but here’s hoping. And agree T3 is no great loss due to reliability and overpricing issues. Isn’t there history with VH and Flybe Mk1 so could def be an airline LBA are targeting

If Flybe2 are targeting 30 odd DH8 then they need to be hitting hard routes that have been lost so it would be no surprise to see BHD, NQY and SOU on the agenda - SOU needs to be both business and cruise friendly and certainly offer 22kg baggage with the option to add more as the Eavesway Cruiselink most companies offer is torturous!

BE mk1 didn’t have an auto bag inclusion, other than on full fares and route deals so am not expecting much to change there. But you could add as extras. T3s bag offering was/is a meagre 15kg auto inclusion with no facility to pre-book extra so defo no loss if someone else is going to step in

Newquay website no longer shows Leeds as a destination but does show Humberside. LBA website still shows Newquay as a destination.

The story behind this is all quite interesting. Eastern have fallen out with LBA after the airport company impounded one of the J41s for non-payment of bills. I can't think they would have done that without several warnings and much opportunity to sort the situation out and so it does seem like a last resort from the airport. Eastern have taken the hump and pulled out.

Lets face it, Eastern have had years to develop at LBA but have always failed to do so. Other airports always seem to be their priority. I feel sure LBA management have been frustrated at their refusal, for example, to upgrade the Newquay route to something more suitable. I doubt they will view their departure as a big loss.
IF, they can get Flybe to set up a base at LBA then both Eastern routes are good options for them.

I wonder if the market value of an elderly J41 would have been sufficient to cover the outstanding debts ??

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
