Ryanair certainly surprises us with their destinations . Maybe now we may see some attention spent expanding the Bristol market . Personally I think if cologne can work then maybe Stuttgart and Nuremberg may follow hopefully.

I think Germany will probably see a lot of new Ryanair aircraft over the next couple of years as they expand in that market and try and take on Lufthansa. So BRS might get a more Ryanair routes from Germany.

Press release said Cologne flights were on sale immediately but I can't see they're available after looking at the website or the app. I hope the route hasn't been axed already!

Cologne will be released when the rest of the brs winter programme is released.

The new Manchester-Cologne route due to commence at the same time as the BRS-Cologne route and also said to be available for booking from 13 February is not yet available either.

Winter 2017-2018

I note that Ryanair has been releasing schedules in the past couple of weeks for next winter. The release dates seem to be slightly earlier than last year when the current winter schedules were announced.

BRS was amongst the last to be announced last year; in fact it may well have been the last when its winter schedule was finally announced on 21 April. Let's hope it's a bit earlier this year.

talking about next winters offerings from airlines does not sound good as we hopefully will have a good summer.it does help when airlines get their offerings out as early as possible, and it wonders with late announcements across the country how many pax move from airport to airport.

Cologne now appearing and Bucharest going twice a week
Cologne operated by CGN-based aircraft according to timings. In at 1120 and out at 1145 on all four days each week.

Dublin

I read on another website that Ryanair is down to 2 x daily this summer. I've just checked the booking engine and the rotations are as they were when the schedule was released:

19 x weekly in May, August and September ( 3 x daily except Tues and Sun when 2 x daily)
14 x weekly in June and July (2 x daily each day)

This is slightly down on summer 2016 when the schedule was 20 x weekly in May, August and September and 16 x weekly in June. July 2016 was 14 x weekly as this coming summer.

I wonder where the 2 x weekly for the entire summer 2017 came from.

The reduction in the DUB flights (a reduction of 5x weekly) happens at the same time as the start of the 2x weekly REU flights and 2x weekly EGC flights (making an increase of 4x weekly total) from the beginning of June. As TLY has stated DUB goes back up to 19 per week at the beginning of August (along with peak summer increases to PMI,FAO and BZR)
For info the number of weekly RYR departures from BRS is as follows:
In May the weekly number of RYR departures is 116 pw.
In June this drops to 115 pw (DUB -5 / REU +2 / EGC +2)
In July it goes up to 121 pw (ALC +2 / TFS +1 / LPA +1 / CHQ +1 / EGC +1)
It goes up to 131 pw from the 7th August for 3 weeks (DUB +5 / PMI +1 / FAO +3 / BZR +1)
In Sept it goes down to 122 per week
In October REU (by this point 3x weekly) and EGC (2x weekly) stop and the weekly departures go to 116 pw.

I'll update if the schedule changes.

When I last checked - #334 of 7 February - the weekly rotations each month were as your post except for September which seems to have gone up by one from 121 to 122.

The comparison with summer 2016 - May to September inclusive - is respectively with 2016 numbers shown first:

113/116; 119/115; 120/121; 132/131; 118/122

31 routes (two more than summer 2016) but the number of flights is almost the same as last summer.

Any ideas why Norwich is showing up in the list of available destinations from BRS? There are no available dates however

That will probably be because Ryanair have been doing charters for Norwich city football club. They did one to Cardiff earlier on in the year when Norwich played Cardiff and it's still on the list of destinations from Cardiff. So they must be playing Bristol soon.

We have had the official launch of the winter schedule. Nothing new announced except cologne and increases to Venice. Like Birmingham we seem to be very static with Ryanair

Up by seven rotations per week from last winter to 76: Venice MP +2 to 4; Bucharest +1 to 2; Cologne 4 (new route). Still a 10% increase on last winter which had been 25% up on the previous one, so some growth in recent winters.

The Ryanair press release says that Dublin will be 2 x daily. It's actually 3 x daily Mon-Fri and 2 x daily on Sat and Sun, the same as last winter.

The Ryanair press release also mentions record bookings for summer 2017 but it might say that on its press releases for all airports.

Faro

Purely out of idle curiosity I checked the seat selectors for tomorrow's Faro flights.

Currently the Ryanair seat selector is showing 92.6% occupancy, whilst easyJet is showing 96.8% on the first flight and 89.7% on the second (both 156-seat A319s).

My mind was jogged by a query about Ryanair's NQY-FAO which is showing 89.9% seat occupancy for tomorrow at present.

Ryanair could halt flights from Bristol over Brexit uncertainty

http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/ryanair-could-halt-flights-bristol-19915

It's a statement from Ryanair about the UK generally in a worst-case scenario, but the local rag has personalised it to BRS with the headline. I have no doubt some people will read the headline but not the article and think that Ryanair might stop flying from BRS.

If that is the case, it might backfire on Ryanair in a small way as some people might look to alternatives instead of booking with them.

They have been the most vocal airline about Brexit. I'm surprised there hasn't been any rumours about Ryanair applying for a UK AOC. Would that drastically effect them if part of their fleet had to fly under a UK AOC?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
