I know what the answer will be to this but the Xenforo update renders a thread unreadable for me as whenever a thread has an image posted directly into it, there's some kind of Style Sheet conflict between it and those of us with primeval PCs with browsers from the Jurassic age. I was going to post abut the exotic A319 into Bristol but Jerry beat me to us. This is a screenshot of what that forum looked like

and when clicking the down arrow, this is what the forum looks like.

It's not just this forum that I have this issue on and the common theme is that they are all based on Xenforo forum software. If I save the page as HTML only and open that up, there's no problem in seeing the text

I'll be honest, I'm not sure exactly what causes that to happen on your PC. Xenforo say they test their software on multiple applications so you would expect their testing to flag any problems with certain browsers. I see by your images you have shared you have Firefox and Internet Explorer? I believe Internet Explorer is possibly obsolete now? Is it worth maybe changing that for a newer browser such as Microsoft Edge? Alternatively you could re-install Firefox to make sure it's running on the latest version.

Opened up the HTML in Firefox as well. Can't update this version of Firefox due to the lack of support to Vista OS. Amti-virus software is bang up to date. Don't want to make too hasty a decision on a new PC as all's been well with this one for 11 years

By heck David you are bringing back names I had so long forgotten about!! I'm glad to hear that it's still going strong for you although I do wonder whether this might be the source of your problem? I'm not a techie, so I'll leave Aviador to respond to you.

That is frustrating but it explains why you have a problem.

I wouldn't want to get involved with when you should perhaps look at replacing your much trusted PC but, I would hazard a guess that it's somewhat vulnerable to security problems if it's no longer being updated.

I'd strongly advise upgrading away from Windows Vista, as it is no longer supported by Microsoft as of April 2017. No active AV will protect you from this lack of support. You should look into moving over to Windows 10, the OS currently actively supported by Microsoft. Also, there are various free and paid programs that can make Windows 10 look similar to Windows Vista if it is the user interface you are afraid of being changed.

Unfortunately, it is likely that moving forward you will continue to have issues as the web standard changes and newer versions come in. I'm going to install a user agent identifier so I can get a feel of what users are using when on the forum but I have a feeling that you will be in a minority and will gradually get more and more issues if you do not upgrade.

I'm sorry if this isn't the answer you were hoping for but unfortunately, there is no way that we can support something that was originally released 14 years ago.

I've just made a few minor changes to the forum homepage. No particular reason, just for a change really. Hopefully everyone is still OK with the change. Also, the Manchester Airport Transformation Project is a new Thread Pointer designed to point new members to popular areas of the forum, or to highlight something new to regular members. Let me know if you like this kind of thing and I can introduce more as time goes on.

Hello boss, just tried the home page and I got a very brief image of the Manchester transformation article and it vanished promptly. For information my normal device is Android which I am using to compose this message but my Windows 10 Laptop IS showing your home page as you described. The laptop is used exclusively for live webfeeds!

Can you get some screenshots to us? It could be that the responsive mobile layout may need investigating and tweaking slightly as I know @Aviador loves his custom blocks on the homepage!

Negative on the Android device, disappearance too rapid for me to intervene. Please note the site functions very well in the Android and maybe the subscription prevents any advertising automatically.

Thank you for your efforts, truely appreciated!

I've given the homepage a little shuffle this evening to give some of the less busy forums more focus. I've also added a number of new galleries to the media section. Also can everybody remember to give their photos titles when uploading to the gallery.

congratulations to forums4airports for doing a great job on this website. forums4airports made it into the top 15 aviation sites around the globe. Thanks from me for what all the mods do and the thinking of Aviador for all the work he does which a lot of it we dont see. Keep up the good work guys.

How is everyone finding the new homepage layout, clean, fresh or does it lack something? Do you view the forum mostly on a mobile phone? If so, are you finding the forum accessible enough?

We have a low interaction rate on the forum at the moment. It's likely because of the ongoing uncertainty in the industry but if it's something we're doing wrong, please let us know.

No, nothing wrong just pretty much naff all happening positively really hence quite a few few discussions (arguments) on the virous/politics etc on various parts of the forum.

Layout is fine for me thank you.

Layout also looks good to me, although as I'm using a mobile at present I don't get the benefit of the full home screen - in fact it seems to take longer to load.

I cannot find anything wrong with the site, using a 7" tablet mainly and any changes or improvement is so subtle , I don't notice it! And of course, when the place becomes more open, more great stuff from members with cameras! Can't wait to be honest with you.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
