At an earlier period of the package holiday era many passengers found Thomson / Tui the best and most reliable company to fly with which is why most of us on the Leeds forum are so disappointed that they dislike our airport so much and seem much more attracted to the South Yorkshire airport of Doncaster.
We have no idea what they dislike even though we all have our own theories which on this forum are normally up for discussion.
I have several friends and ex colleagues with this company and they are all very happy to be employed in the present climate of airline collapses so maybe when this fix everything terminal gets built they can be encouraged to grace our ramp again.

As a seat only customer, having never bought a package holiday, Thomsons used to treat SO customer very badly, I have put up a thread of how my tickets were removed from me at Malaga years ago, due to incompetent admin, at the arrival airport they would ignore you if you were a SO passenger and deal with all those getting a bus before doing their mandatory paper work necessary for our return flight.
Even in the last few years our outward flight was cancelled I accept a good three months before the off, but they refused to allow us to take a flight a day earlier as it was a lot more expensive (thats why I did not book it), yet happy I lost two nights in the hotel with their no additional charge new flight date. Our hotel always fully booked so no chance of amending the dates.
I cancelled the outgoing, but tried to retain the inward flight, they refused as said all one deal, as we were 3 months from flying the new flights cost me extra, as much as the hotel loss, worth the extra not to lose days of our holiday, but left a bad taste they had my money for months.

Never used them myself as I used Dan-Air my employer until the 90s then my new employer European Air Transport until they stopped us using the jump seats for ourselves and family after 9/11 had occurred and security was stepped up.

Tui will most certainly not be alone in doing this type of appraisal. All holiday airlines and operators will be doing something similar. Expect further news of this type particularly since the most recent forecasts re the peak of the virus isn't expected until another 10 - 14 weeks ahead. Difficult times ahead for everyone.

Does anyone have any updates on Tui, they've recently announced they are restarting their flights/holidays. Any mention of Leeds anywhere? Or will they dominantly focus on their core bases?

Edit: Just as an update on the Tui website, LBA-PMI is bookable from 11th July. (albeit it shows the flight is Air Europa (Tuesday's only)).

It seems a bit daft. They are caving to Jet2. If customers want to go; haven't booked but don't mind a last minute booking and they are wanting TUI from EMA, DSA, NCL, EDI, STN but will not want to travel to MAN or BHX or LGW. This feeds into Jet2 (LBA/EMA for DSA, NCL, EDI & STN) and their strength. Whilst i understand the cautious approach; and we've yet to see Jet2's programme post Covid lockdown (it's still around it's not like its disappeared) and if they are operating from all 9 bases to most destinations as i've said it feels like they are caving to Jet2 and giving them customers that would otherwise gone with TUI.

Update. Leeds - Palma reduced to 1x weekly Tuesday flight operated by Air Europa. The Saturday flight by TUI has now been removed. Meanwhile the 1x weekly Friday Leeds - Corfu operated by TUI remains on sale still

Tuesdays
PMI 10:25 - LBA 12:00 / LBA 12:50 - PMI 16:25
Fridays
CFU 13:00 - LBA 14:30 / LBA 15:35 - CFU 21:00

is that confirmed? As all 3x weekly LBA flights are still on sale from July 11th onwards

According to this report Tui from 11 July will operate to eight destinations from three UK airports which will be LGW, MAN and BHX.

Then from the end of July they will offer, subject to government advice, a total of 19 destinations from five UK airports which means that two more as yet unnamed UK airports will be used in addition to the three mentioned above.

Unlikely to be LBA as the Northern Gateway is just over the hill !
I would imagine GLA & BRS
But could be wrong

I agree, they look to be re-activating the bases in size (market) order.

LGW (Cover London & SE)
MAN (Cover the NW & Yorks)
BHX (Cover the Midlands)
BRS (Cover the SW & Wales)
GLA ( Cover Scotland)

Then the rest depending on demand.

DSA
NCL
EMA
STN
CWL
LTN
EXT
EDI
BFS (must be a priority due to location)
BOH
NWI?
ABZ?

I think that’s all the bases listed.

Unfortunately at these unprecedented times, I think airlines will follow where the money goes. Tui for example will be operating from the main bases including the one over the hill in MAN. Hence why I asked the question of any updates in the first place as they've been quiet from an LBA perspective. I like the fact they've still got availability to book from LBA but I fear it may just be false hope.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
