I see today's paphos flight departed with a delay of 2 hours and 20 minutes. I don't know if it's just myself but recently I've noticed a few of Thomson flights going late from LBA. Doesn't do anything for customer experience and would make me doubt travelling with them again.

If you're using flight radar as your method of STD/STA this is wrong. The actual STD for the Paphos flight today was 15:55 so actually only around a 25min delay. Recently there have been problems with the check in a system. Due to the timetable change CLC have not changed their Altea Customer Management system and so sometimes by the time c/I opens the system thinks the flight has departed and finalised and so anyone who has checked in online doesn't show up in the system. It is an ongoing problem which is being resolved.
 
Sunwing Airways Boeing 737-800, C-FWGH was involved in a runway overrun on departure from Belfast Int'l few days ago. Good job it didn't happen at the airlines Leeds base otherwise I guess this could have been alot worse. Either; have been down a ditch on Horsforth end (Eg: BA Airtours L1011 style) or dug a mess into Otley Chevin.

I understand the Canadian Crew involved have been suspended pending further investigation.

Good news is that instead of taking the Leeds based Boeing 737-800, C-FEAK away they have positioned the Norwich based Boeing 737-800, C-GNCH over to Belfast to cover.
Meanwhile a Thomson Airways Boeing 757-200 is covering the Norwich based aircraft duties.

According to the report the aircraft completed the flight without further incident and no damage was found, so why has it been necessary to replace it I wonder? Frankly, I would rather have had the Thomson 757 and let Belfast have our Sunwing!
 
Agreed about the Thomson 757 but it might have created parking problems in the event of it stopping overnight as there are only certain stands that can accommodate a 757. I couldn't see a Thomson aircraft being made to overnight on a taxiway; Heaven forbid !

They were parking up some of the Jet2 757s on the taxiways the other day, so it probably would have to go there too!
 
Very true but it's routine to park Jet2 any old where as there is a significant towing capability at Leeds Bradford. Occasionally a Monarch machine will be parked on a taxiway but it's still a relatively rare occurrence. The (new) airport management won't encourage a year-round presence from Thomson by daring to park them on a smeggy old taxiway. So it doesn't happen.
 
A 2nd weekly Corfu flight now showing on Monday nights between 28th May and 24th September 2018:

Interesting to see whether or not this gets dropped/changed as the 2nd weekly Ibiza flight did this summer.

Its not like a big extra commitment, But any kind of expansion is good coming from Thomson. Also it will mean the LBA based aircraft will be worked a little bit harder next summer as well..
 
LBA management confirmed at today's Consultative Meeting that TUi will be operating the previously mentioned 2nd weekly service to Corfu to provide a 10 or 11 day holiday option. However, for the winter, their weekly Tenerife flight has been axed for a 4 week period in Jan/Feb 2018.

Well if TUI have an early Sunday Malaga flight showing they might need that rumored 2nd based aircraft next summer, but I'll only believe that after seeing something official like a press release.
We all know what Thomson's and Britannia history is like a LBA.

My gut feeling is that the current situation will remain with 1x based Boeing 737-800 aircraft. l can see the flight programme been rescheduled so to fit in an extra few flights per week seen as they are only adding 10,000 seats over a 6 month period.

well if you divide 10,000 extra seats by 189, the seats on a B738, your answer is 53 extra flights. So, if as lbaspotter says, its 10,000 over 6 months that's roughly one extra flight every 3 days , so maybe a w leg every 2 or 3 days?? I hadn't worked out the difference if a 752 was to be used as I'm not sure on the seat numbers but just very quickly if a 752 was 230 seats the difference would be 41, 41 x 180 days would be 7,380 seats so 'w' legs might be more likely?

189 seats X2 = 378 seats x 26 weeks = 9,828 or rounded up: 10,000
 
They may use a charter airline to add extra flights or cover existing ones ie Eurowings for Palma or Norwegian for TFS or Freebird for Dalaman. That would help add extra seats without W patterns or extra aircraft.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
