It's good to see passenger numbers up 594%, over the previous disastrous year, but we still have along way to go. With a few routes now establishing year round services things will hopefully improve, I wonder what the load was like on the new FR Belfast service today?

As a comparison this was the numbers for 2019

CAA Stats for 2019
Cardiff Wales Airport saw 1,656,085 passengers use the airport in 2019 up 5% on 2018.
The airport saw 1803 tonnes of freight pass through the airport up 24% on 2018.

I saw a post that suggested the load was 80 too 90 on the inbound. Idk about the outbound.

Thanks Scottie, nice to see another rise in numbers, February being one of the quietest months, the airport is heading back towards a million passengers a year, but still a long way to go.

Here is my take on the CAA data for April 2023. For some reason the CAA seem to have omitted Table 3 which contains Air Transport Movements and therefore I have had to leave that section blank. I have emailed the CAA for an explanation and, hopefully, I may receive a response at some time (my normal contact appears to have left).

The CAA has now published Table 3 and therefore this report is now complete.

Thanks Scottie nice to see Amsterdam doing well, but surprised to see some of the most popular sun routes down a little, e.g. Alicante and Tenerife.

Well Alicante and Tenerife have lost capacity from Wizz.

I'm trying to get my head around May 23 vs May 22 figures mainly surrounding charter numbers. The below comparison is showing several routes with quite large drops in passenger numbers.
Did TUI do a later start to their holiday flights in May? The figures appear to be a shadow of passenger numbers on those routes in 2019.

Larnaca -399 passengers
Corfu -1249 passengers
Heraklion -1319 passengers
Kos -722 passengers
Zakynthos -1519 passengers
Ibiza -2075
Palma -2330 passengers
Reus -1132 passengers
Bourgas -693 passengers

Tenerife +472 passengers
Rhodes +786

One thing of significant note is the increase to AMS, but still a long way to go to reach the 13k levels of 2019.
Amsterdam + 3861.

Interestingly, even with FR going daily to DUB carrying 6604 passengers, in 2019 Flybe were carrying 8184 and 9192 in 2018.
Still a long way to go but the potential is there!

Thanks Scottie, a disappointing month figures wise, WIZZ not operating is obviously having an affect, although it's nice to see Amsterdam doing well.

Those figures show that CWL is absolutely desperate for some low-cost carrier to take on the PMI route from summer 2024 as a priority I’d say!

As some of you may be aware I have been going through a difficult time of recent and, as a result, my compilation of statistics has taken a bit of a back seat.

As soon as I am able to I will return with monthly data and in the meantime I would ask that you bear with me.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
