Re: Can you recall all the TYPES of aircraft you have flown

pug,

Was the low cost airline you can't remember America West?

It was based at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Arizona, and had over 100 aircraft at its height, including some A 320s.

America West was absorbed into US Airways a few years ago.

I remember flying out of Phoenix in the mid 1990s and the place was full of America West aircraft (though we flew out on a Northwest B 757), mainly B 733s and B757s then but they also had some 320s and 319s, mainly I think later in their existence.

Re: Can you recall all the TYPES of aircraft you have flown

Spot on local yokel, tried looking for the airline on the LAX wiki but couldnt find them. Cheers.

Re: Can you recall all the TYPES of aircraft you have flown

Try this for variety then,
My first flight was in an Auster at Southend. About 10 shillings and my dad paid but stayed on the ground. Didn't tell my mum 'til afterwards.
Since then add in Varsity, VC-10, Caravelle, Trident, Citation, Beagle Pup, many Pipers and various current Boeings, Airbus and MDs. Etc, etc.

Re: Can you recall all the TYPES of aircraft you have flown

Do military aircraft count?
The civilian stuff is mostly just a blur to me, remembered more by the food, drink and seat comfort than by name. The Royal Navy aircraft that had me along as ballast after a repair (my normal job) may have been more white knuckle than an Easyjet flight to Dublin but at least I got paid extra for volunteering . ;)
Whirlwind Mk 3 helicopter.
Wessex 5 helicopter.
De Havilland Sea Venom.
Fairey Gannet.
I remember doing a check flight in a Wessex 5 and being told that we were better than just using 45 gallon drums filled with water to simulate the weight of a full load because we could maybe give a crash report if we survived . :D
Cheers,
Steve
