On my iMac desk top the easyJet booking engine is showing CDG 1 x daily (M-F mornings and Sa-Sun evenings) and Orly daily as listed above.

Yes it’s changed now to one each . To me it doesn’t make much sense to have one flight to both airports

I suppose that Orly is one of the airports mentioned by Red Flyer when talking about slot discussions for new routes.

Are 18 based aircraft still needed for the summer or is there only part time work at the moment for the 18th? It seems that MAN will become the largest UK base outside London this summer with 19 aircraft.

I agree that if it remains like this it will be confusing to some passengers, not all of whom are as au fait with the niceties of air travel as others.

Nothing on the BRS website news section which might not be of much relevance, particularly if it's merely switching one of the daily rotations from one Paris airport to another.

If it does transpire that one of the two daily rotations has been switched I hope that easyJet and the airport don't present it in banner headlines as a new route without mentioning the switch or the rationale behind it. I will be pleasantly surprised if they do.

I would find it hard to believe that easyJet would acquire all those extra slots and not use them though. Even if they just wanted to use different time slots there is no evidence of that so far. There is gaps in the schedule and I can only hope that there is more to come.

Easyjet makes life hard for it self and customers.Whats been announced might be half the story The other way to look at it would be to announce the route and see what the take up is.

EasyJet didn’t officially announce ac no17 until April 2019 so there’s time yet I guess

I had an email today from the airport telling me about the Paris Orly route (nothing yet in the News section on the airport website). As I had anticipated, there is nothing to tell me that this is merely a switch of one of the daily rotations from CDG to ORY.

The email merely said:

New easyJet route Paris Orly from Bristol (that was the heading).

The message went on to say: You can now fly to Paris de Gaulle (sic) and Paris Orly from Bristol .Immerse yourself in Parisian culture. Flights to Paris Orly start 29 March 2020, seats are now on sale.

I contacted easyJet via Facebook today and expressed my displeasure at the lack of clarification on the ceasing of the evening return to CDG to then operate an evening return to ORY.

Basically the response was one of apologies for the inconvenience caused by the schedule change, but they would pass the feedback to the scheduling team so it can be looked into.

I did the day trip to Paris yesterday. 7:30am flight took off bang on time. Took just under 1 hour, helped by a decent tailwind.
taxi from CDG dropped us at the Sacre Coeur, wandered through MonteMartre, the Moulin Rouge, had lunch, went across to the Trocadero to see the Eiffel Tower and then walked the length of the Champs Elysees stopping in many places along the way.
had a drink in a bar before getting a taxi back at around 6:30. The traffic between the airport and the city was horrendous but it’s a shame to think this won’t be possible when they bring the second flight forward to mid afternoon. Of course, I’m sure not many people do a day trip so I don’t know if it will be much of a loss. I assume most passengers on this route must be leisure travellers?

This summer the CDG flight will still go out from BRS early at 0715 Mon-Fri (later at weekends) whereas the ORY flight will leave Paris at 1900 M-F to return to BRS which gives two and a half hours less time in Paris than the current 2 x daily CDG schedule, which is a lot for a day trip. Weekends are hopeless for a day trip given the timings of both CDG and ORY.

Certainly not an improvement just as it looked that after a number of years easyJet had realised that CDG was viable at 2 x daily.

I'm certain there's still more to come. 18x based aircraft are needed at the moment (+1 on 2019) however there are only 6x extra departures per week vs last year currently showing.

Given current EZY schedules at BRS I'd expect at between 14x and 21x extra flights per week with each extra based aircraft.
2018 saw 22x more departures operated by one extra based aircraft (vs 2017).
2019 saw 36x more departures operated by two extra based aircraft (vs 2018).

I’m sure there will be more but I think it be more tinkering with the existing routes and frequencies rather than a clutch of new routes. It’s hard to see where the gaps are now we have so many flights lol

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
