I think my guess is Air Baltic with their CS300s purely on the basis a few times it has now been mentioned that saying the aircraft type would give the airline away. I don't think there are many aircraft types that would do that and this is the main one that I can think of. Plus, they already have a decent number in their fleet (which might be surplus at this time if they keep some of their old fleet) and they would be a good size for a more frequent schedule than other low-cost operators may use.

They have 5 already and still have 15 to be delivered to replace to 6 737 300s and 5 737 500s which are supposed to be phased out by 2020. There Q400s won't be replaced by C Series aircraft. So they will have spare aircraft and maybe they have identified a niche market they can fill in the UK. If so they might look at other UK airports as well.

I have heard that this new airline to Birmingham, would be operating daily flights to New York Newark from May 2018, and 4 weekly to Boston and 3 weekly to Toronto from June 2018 with A321neo equipment.

The A321neo with sharklets has a range of 6,850km, BHX-EWR is 5,444km, BHX-BOS 5,123km, BHX-YYZ 5,582km approx!

so if this is true, which possible airline has A321neo's on order ready for May 2018, that doesn't already fly from Birmingham? ;)

Etihad? Indigo? Nile Air? Pegasus? TAP?
My new guess is Etihad based on previous discussions of good reputation

these are the airlines that have not yet been ruled out that have A321neos on order :-

AirAsia
Air New Zealand
Kuwait Airways
All Nippon AW
ANA Holdings
Arkia Israel AL
Asiana AL
Avianca
Cebu Pacific AW
Etihad AW
Gulf Air
Indigo
Korean Air
LAN AL/LATAM
Lion Air
MEA-Middle East AL
Nile Air
Pegasus AL
Philippine AL
Spring AL
TAP Air Portugal
TransAsia AW
VietJet

but of course does not included any airlines that have aircraft on order from any of the leasing companies! :cautious:

In terms of there'll given Easyjet is not a new airline to BHX.......

Also, not TCX, deffo serve BHX and they serve Trans Atlantic.

Indigo, Nile Air and Etihad don't have 7th freedom rights for UK-US/Canada.

That should help deduct a few....l

This may be a longshot and completely way off the mark but Qatar Airways has A321neos on order and considering they've lost a lot of routes due to what happening in the Middle East then it could be possible they may want to use those aircraft in Europe rather than sitting on the ground. I can't see them having a problem getting an UK AOC?

WOW that's great news

You need to methods to eliminate carriers:

-do they have the rights to serve UK-US/Canada on a 7th freedom basis (in other words, BHX-USA only, and not a AUH-BHX-USA as an example) Carriers like Etihad and Indigo do not have that.

-Does this carrier serve the UK at all? Let's not go round in circles, eliminate the 'no' pile and move on.

Though Qatar do fly from MAN but Meridiana don't so it could be them with Qatar aircraft and crews? I think i'm starting to over think this now!:LOL::LOL: but a Qatar UK wouldn't technically be flying from MAN! Yeah definitely overthinking!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
