Airlines often deny new routes, but you have to ask the question, if this isn't true, then why publicly:

-have 4 specific Euro/African destinations been mentioned
-pricing guidelines published
-1 20kg bag included
-CPH confirms its in talks

These details haven't just been made up out of thin air, someone has talked and TZ/SQ didn't like it.

I heard exactly the same thing yesterday in that Scoot will not SIN-India-UK but will look to add direct routes to Europe from SIN which are NOT served by Singapore Airlines.
BHX must be with a shout and for getting HK Airlines, BHX RD team have been out there a lot recently

We just need to watch this space.

After a quiet few weeks, there are a few MAN long hauls back in the iron, and all will be revealed in time.

2018 may have a slight lull compared to previous years, but 2019 looks to be 'back in business'.

I've not seen anything about Kuwait for some time.

Good to see renewed vigour for the Indian subcontinent and Far East markets. Perhaps not repeated for the North American markets, but keeping what we have for the next couple of years would be a decent outcome.

Quick question. We know that Norwegian and Vueling (except BCN) have walked away from their sunshine routes ex-MAN for W17/18. Do we have any indication as to whether they plan to restore these for S18 season? Thanks.

No the Scandinavian routes are still bookable for S18. SVG isn't at the moment but that always gets loaded a bit later on.

It's too early to be sure if the beach routes will return, as D8 still holding slots for them, but, we will soon see.

It's going to be a mix. One Sun Air route (Gothenburg) and there is talk of a slightly longer week from Cityflyer too (Wed-Sun instead of Thu-Sun)

I can see why Cityflyer would want to fly a longer week, but how can they do that whilst serving LCY?

Also, how can the Embracier aircraft compete with the A320s on higher capacity routes like BCN?

Well, I think they are taking some slack out of LCY flights and don't forget they serve MAN on a Friday, which is a busy day for LCY. Wednesday is also a quieter day but will probably entail a late Wednesday flight to MAN then another flight or 2 on Thursday.

Then there is the second based aircraft on Saturday which could bolster flights to Palma, Malaga and Alicante to 2 weekly. Nice could also go 2 weekly on a Fri and Sun morning to capture the weekend market.

It probably won't be long before we get a full week based aircraft. Let's face it, the aircraft spends just as long at MAN now as it does at LCY.

No terms of capacity, it's not the quantity BA are aiming for, it's the quality. They are not aiming to compete directly against the low costs, with club Europe, interlining and more legroom, it's about carving their own niche.

They would have to expand there fleet and the only way an Embraer could compete is if it was part of a hub feed or providing for a specific type of passenger like business passengers.

I suspect adding sun routes to the BA Holiday brand from anywhere is always bound to be a winner given their brand penetration.

India

The Indian market seems one to keep an eye on, if this article from Bloomberg is to be believed.

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....ing-against-airbus-in-low-cost-long-haul-push

The market (presumably outbound Indian market) has been described as "incredibly price sensitive" but "expanding at a 20% annual clip".

We now seem to have a plethora of Indian carriers lining up to order aircraft in order to commence long haul operations to Europe and elsewhere. A number of them have publicly expressed a wish to serve Manchester in the past (Scoot, Jet, Vistara) and a number have no publicly stated plans to do so (Spicejet, Air India, IndiGo).

It now seems a matter of time before one of the above serves the India-Manchester market.

Well it's nice to see that a few of the routes that have been mentioned in this thread have been picked up in the last year by MAN, but still no mention of anyone starting FLR.
Could this be a route that BA might be interested in?
What do other people think of HOP to Orly, and maybe someone serving Asturias/Oviedo during the summer months? Volotea would be nice. It's getting really popular the North coast of Spain.
Also what are the chances of VS to Havana??

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
