Fantastic pictures Simon.
Were these pictures taken from the car park? It's an excellent spotting location.

Next time I do plane spotting, I may take pictures from here instead of the usual Sheldon Country Park. Great views

There is also a decent spot at the top of Hatchbrook golf course at the side of the Monarch hanger especially in the summer months. There is a little mound that gives you some height and as long as you have a decent camera you can get some good piccies

Thanks, I'll give it a try in the summer months.

Heading for the sun from a freezing Birmingham.

Hello all, some pictures enclosed from a very dull day last Saturday.Mission was to try and get a landing shot of the Wamos Air 744 arriving from Cancun,it was fortunately late and arrived at 8am just before sunrise so the pictures are a bit grainy as had to use a high ISO to get enough light.

Pictures are quite splendid but the pastel colours of the Wamos titles do not reflect well regardless of light.

Birmingham deserves a regular 747 service as they are fantastic to see. I dare say that because it remains the true Jumbo Jet and has character whilst A380 wins on it's size and enormity.

Great pictures. Thanks for taking them and posting.

Great to see a true Jumbo. I agree with Jenny we need more. I have most days the Heathrow traffic passing overhead in Essex at 5 to 7,000 feet. At first a 380 was a spectacle but now it just an ugly blob, but when a 747 comes over: what a sight. Sadly they arw becoming rare each year.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
