Sorry ... shouldn’t try to eat my dinner & type
Swiftair 7006 tonight is showing as an ATR, I do realise it hasn’t operated this week & unlikely to operate, but strange 3 sights have it as a different a/c to the Embraer

You can have a vague post or no post - your choice !
New route.. reinstated route.new airline, returning airline, next winter/summer/decade. Any combination could i suggest all be added to "good news coming soon" without it being in the least bit "*dangerous". The options would still be numerous.
So is it a combination of any of these Ian?
.

The route(s) will be surprise to this forum as have been mentioned before
It / they may not happen at all but the source couldn't be any better.

On that one Ian I would stay quiet for a while as it has be known for an airline to pull their plans
when they have been rumbled as to their plans.

An interesting interjection from Mullion there. Could he be party to the same knowledge? With his MAN connections could we
be talking about an airline that serves MAN and was thought to have no interest in BHX?

Sorry 58terminus I`m not but do remember an incident at Manchester where there was a leak of info and the airline
dropped their plans never to return and people were sacked

As it is a surprise did you mean too say the route(s) have NOT been mentioned before? That would be surprising as its hard to think of a route that has not been mentioned. Or were you referring to the airline?
Birmingham to Southend it is then...or have I mentioned that before?

And whilst we dream of anything happening at BHX, our friends down in BRS just keep popping them out like it is no tomorrow.

This makes me mad, really mad and quite frankly I'm sick and tired of this airport. :grumpy:

Don't know about Bristol ini particular but these 2/3/4 weekly routes are usually at the expense of rotations on other routes.
I think we have seen something similar happening with Jet2 at BHX
If you have a good PR dept.working with the airline you can spin it to look like expansion. Or your PR dept.can concentrate on environmental issues and remind people that the aviation industry is regarded (wrongly) as a major polluter.

I think we all just want the return of Lisbon, Athens, Valencia, Reykjavik, Stockholm, along with many, many others. The likes of Seville, Bilbao, Bergamo, Brindisi, Oslo, Helsinki....... would also be most welcome.

Personally I'm not bothered who operates them just as long as they happen but with Ryanair seemingly happy to just do the bare minimum and Jet2 sticking with their very successful business model (and rightly so in my opinion) the cupboard could remain bare for the foreseeable.

With instant brand recognition easyjet just seem the perfect fit to make these routes work but either they see no merit in the Midlands or BHX see no merit in having them. Sadly, at the moment it's long connections or journeys on the M1/6 for those wishing to travel to such places :(

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
