CSA Czech Airlines

Really surprising news.. This is a popular route, we've booked at least 50 customers that are due to be travelling Nov - Jan. Now they are rerouting them via its Skyteam partners or they are giving them a full refund. Absolutely shocking!!

When Czech returned to UK they also had PRG- LPL , this was also popular despite messing around with the start date and rubbish timings in first year. They didnt stop, luckily Ryanair picked it up.

Still the only UK destination they serve. Too much competition for them. B word. I would not be surprised if the suspension is ahead of a withdrawal. Shame but a sign of the times.

Sadly confirmed by looking at their website, nothing is bookable. Another airline gone

I wonder if there is scope for Jet2 to go permanent 4x weekly or even Wizz to start the route?

A great shame to see CSA go and withdraw from the UK (their LGW route operated my smartwings is also being cut)... they are citing 737Max issues so is their a chance they could return?

failing that, with jet2 on the route there's scope for them to increase or others to jump in...

An airline lost but thankfully not a route!

The fact that the route remains served is a small shining light but from 9 down to 2x weekly is a huge drop in capacity.

Yet another route added to the 'if only we had easyjet' list 🙁

The stupid thing is the route was originally operated by Czech Airlines themselves before they shipped it off to Smart Wings. The former uses Airbus for short haul so has no issues with delayed 737MAX's 🙄

Smart Wings actually bought Czech Airlines, they own about 98% of it, and made the decision to removes the A319s, and become an all 737 fleet. They have 7 grounded Maxs, and another 32 on order, so that's where the problem lies.

Maybe or even if the Max ever enters service again, im guessing its going to be at least 2021 before they have enough Maxs in the fleet to think about resuming services to BHX and also LGW.

Jet 2 do have some slack in their summer schedule still, so could add more frequences, depends if they think 4 or 5 a week is more viable that the bucket & spade routes! 😆

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
