Well I went up to the cemetery this morning to get a photo of the 737 700 as it departed off 14, but didn't as the flippin' thing took off from the intersection with the taxiway off the apron and didn't even cross the road tunnel. Basically it just used the old pre 1984 runway length. Disappointing to say the least.

I posted a comment on the Cardiff KLM thread in relation to a refund but as my flight is/was from LBA, i decided it was more appropriate to post here.

I was booked LBA-TLS week after next, but now can't go because I can't quarantine for 14 days on my return. I was trying to rebook but finding flights were up to £100 more. This morning I found flights that were only £1.50 more. Rang KLM and a nice lady said that on her screen, the exact same flights were coming up at £70 more. I then logged onto my booking to change the flights and it was £70 more than I had paid!
If I made a change to my booking it was going to cost £70 more than a fresh booking. They say that there is no charge for changing?

At the end of the day I knew I could not get a refund, so I decided to take the "hit on my wallet" now rather than risk losing another £70 if the covid restrictions were still in place next year. You win some, you lose some.

Conditions of travel due to coronavirus taken directly from the KLM website:-

1. Rebook your flight
Change your travel dates

  • You may change your travel dates without having to pay the change fee, as described in your ticket conditions.
  • You can change your travel dates if the same booking class is available. However, a fare difference might still apply.
This this is the same with all airlines, yes you can change travel dates etc without a fee but id the new travel dates flights are more expensive then the difference has to be paid. Had this myself with Jet2. Had to pay a supplement as the fare between Leeds and Faro was more expensive in 2021 than the fare I paid for a 2020 flight but was not charged for the change of date,

The point I was trying to make was if I made a new booking it was £1.50 more. If I changed my booking, it was £70 more, so in effect, I was paying a change booking fee.

KLM is reducing ops at LBA to a single daily rotation (actually the night stopper) from start of W20/21 timetable to early Jan. Booked (ages ago) a w/e trip to Graz in Dec. Need to decide whether to cancel now and get a refund or voucher to a higher level, or accept the change and spend 6+ hours in Schiphol on return journey.

Just booked KL LBA/AMS/BER (Brandenburg) and HAM/AMS/LBA. Loved the multi city function on the website to get a return from a different airport. Currently scheduled to be the 737 on the morning flight ex LBA. The price was really good - the new 3 tier fare structure is much better than adding bags at the end and the price of the lounge at AMS is lower too so with a 2.5 hour stopover - why not! The best bit was how easy it was to use the vouchers - it took 4x vouchers no bother. A real pleasure compared with the BA experience I reported in September!

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
