For anyone interested,one of the former Ian Allan employees has set up a store in Dalton Street,opposite the law courts.The store is called Tornado Books and Models,there is also a nice Record store in the same road.

Thank you for the correction Kevin.
I visited the store shortly after it opened. The store has generally the same sort of items that Ian Allen stocked,just on a smaller scale.
However as already mentioned,Internet ordering is available,also if here is a particular item,book,model etc you are after,it can be ordered. Give the man a call or visit.I have ordered some Gemini Jets models that weren’t originally going to be stocked.Very friendly and obliging.

Possibly my favourite part of Central Birmingham, such a great place to sit and have a drink on a nice day.

With so much development going on I kind of hope that this area stays under the radar to keep it unspoilt.

Reported that Wednesday could see the first B737 Max passenger service since the grounding. GOL Linhas Aereas of Brazil.

Gol have flown 4 737 MAX 8 aircraft , PR-XMA,B,C,D on a few test flights in the last few days in Brazil so must have these aircraft approved for service now.

Hi everyone, I’ve been interested in things that fly all my life, growing up in Bordesley Green I watched in awe as 1-11s roared overhead, I didn’t realise reverse thrust was why there was such a loud noise afterwards lol. As soon as I was old enough I used to catch the 58 to the old terminal and go to Warwickshire Aero Club in the cabin to wait for an Avianca DC9 to arrive. I digress, fast forward 40 years and I live in Lichfield, what I never realised was how much military traffic seems to overfly and I wondered if anyone knows if there’s any way to track it, thanks in advance

I like the pictures but the thing that concerns me this winter with serious bouts of snow and ice is the possible impact on those trying to get to vaccination centres. I read today that four vaccination centres in Waled had to be closed because of the adverse weather. There is also the danger of people slipping or falling and breaking limbs which adds to the ever-increasing burden with which the NHS is struggling to cope.
