I think that the optimism around last autumn that summer 2021 would see a big bounce in passenger numbers is now receding, at least until the second half of summer. The likely vaccine rollout delay across Europe and unease about new virus variants is clearly slowing recovery with quarantining and more border controls here and abroad adding to the uncertainty.Significant reductions in frequencies n April may and June across the board. Still no chania , Seville , Malta and cologne not on sale
I presume that frequency reductions are the result of booking patterns or perhaps anticipated booking patterns, maybe both.
Yesterday I submitted a post about easyJet in the Airline forum concerning that airline's key Christmas quarter results that don't make for pleasant reading. The report said that there is pent-up demand ahead after March but that customers are booking late because of Covid uncertainty. This is no doubt reflected across other airlines and until much of the recovery uncertainty is removed it's hard to see things changing quickly.
