So now we are told Europeans summer holidays are unlikely this year. If that happens then it’s a death knell for more in the travel industry. Europe took their bat home because the UK left the EU but has an amazing vaccine program. Definitely staycations for Mrs Finger and I this year now unless this changes quickly for the better in Europe

Shall we move this over to the relevant thread people?

I'm all up for debating some of the elements in LBA general thread as aviation is actually very much closely linked with the topic. But some of this needs moving elsewhere.
Yes, please do, otherwise, as I said last time these discussions occurred, I am out of here. I don't come on the LBA forum to just end up depressed by reading yet more stuff about Covid. Put this stuff in a separate thread so those who wish to discuss it can and those who are sick of the entire situation (like me) and doing their best not to stick their head in the gas oven (also like me) can avoid having to read it. Too many experts airing their knowledge (allegedly) and forgetting the impact it has on others who are clinging to some hope of redemption.

Not a moderator sadly. Some of it does belong in aviation threads. Some of it doesn’t.

@Aviador @lbaspotter @TheLocalYokel @Ray Finkle please could one of you move the appropriate discussions into appropriate thread.

I've moved 25 posts to the Covid thread HERE and deleted a couple of others.

Apologies if I've moved something that I shouldn't have, if that is the case just give me a shout as to which post(s) and I'll move it/them back.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

In the last week I've seen this and I've also seen plans for a traffic light system that would allow for some international travel to restart.

This has basically been government policy since the pandemic started. Leak various options and see which one is most popular with the public, then implement that one.

Its got to the point where I'd recommend completely ignoring anything you hear until an official announcement has been made.

If you can't get into Leeds-Bradford on the 2 days a week it is open (Monday & Friday) then Leeds East Airport looks like a very good alternative now.

As it will be fully licensed airfield from Monday 29 March. Operating hours will be 0800 - 1800.
Coincides with the partial relaxing of General Aviation flying restrictions.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
