Tell them your ideas on how to do better 🙂 as swissport do the ground handling. The problems are that they don’t have the adequate staff they need for the flights at present and whilst I appreciate that it’s not a good experience for the customer but the airport can’t take the blame for that when it’s not them that do the ground handling it’s swissport.
The trouble is, to the uninitiated general travelling public, it IS the airports fault and so they get the blame.

On here too apparently.

Swissport have exactly the same problem with staff that the airport do with the same Government checks leading to a 12-15 week period from recruitment to being able to work. They are short staffed at other airports too, particularly MAN. Things should start to improve in the near future provided they have recruited adequately. LBA can and will enforce the service level agreement but that would normally be by way of financial penalties. There is little more they can do.
It's a but rich though the captain of the Flybe blaming Swissport for the delay considering their recent appalling record of delays and cancellations caused by going into service before they had an adequate fleet of aircraft to operate the routes and schedule.

It will, at least, be an opportunity for them to see how the ATR fits with their operations, albeit a little ironic having placed all their eggs in the Dash8 basket. Nevertheless the Dash always was a gamble, as its mid life and no longer supported by the manufacturer so parts take longer. That said the leases must be just this side of free which makes the delay costs, so far, bearable and within reason. Time will tell all.

FR24 suggests EC-KKQ.
Yes, which does have 68 seats, but which currently operates for the United Nations but is flown in their behalf by Swiftair.
A bit if a mystery. Could we end up with a UN ATR72 operating scheduled flights on behalf of Flybe?

I did note that yesterday's BHD Flybe arrivals from Leeds were all on time or early!

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
