It’s due into Heathrow at 15:56, A6-EEA. Seriously what was the point in all of this potential upheaval if it’s still landing at Heathrow.

P-ss up in a brewery springs to mind.
To be honest I think EK31 lands after the Queen has arrived at Windsor looking at the timetable the Route proceeds past LHR at about 1PM Not to late for EK1 to make a Divert or maybe a few BA aircraft though looking at arrivals for LHR a lot are cancelled but most aren't. Back to BHX the A340 is due to Depart to LGW and the 737-900 back to Kuwait City. Still not to late for BHX to receive stuff we can handle 777's at least as obviously BA wouldn't send an A380 to us maybe a 777 if it can't Land at LHR.

EK1 coming into land at LHR LHR still seems active at the moment though a few BA aircraft parking up at the Hangar G-VIIG was one and G-STBF or G-STBH either way a 77W were there eairler

Heathrow will stop operations for about 45 minutes, when the Windsor service at St George's Chapel starts . At the moment flights are reduced and rerouted away from funeral proceedings.

Now the kerfuffle over the recent one off flights or non flights has died down I thought I'd have a general look at the current situation re scheduled flights.

Yesterday for example BHX showed 138 departures and total movements of 294 according to the movements blog and its good to see the likes of Brussels, SAS, and Swiss back operating reasonably full schedules and given the other European airlines who are operating pretty much full schedules ie, the likes of Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Eurowings, Aer Lingus and Turkish. Add in the substantial contribution of the low costs Ryanair, EasyJet, Wizz and Vueling plus the likes of Flybe and Loganair not to mention TUI and Jet2 who between them base 20 plus airframes over the summer. On the long haul front there's Emirates double daily, Air India going up to four weekly and PIA ticking over with Jordan Aviation plus Hans due to start soon

I've probably missed some (channel Islands)but the above is our bread and butter interesting as the one off flights are.

I totally agree Rollo. There seemed to be an obsession about the possible appearance of the Emirates A380 in particular. While it would have been nice to see, these things are always subject to change at short notice.
Watching the Aviation Action live stream yesterday ( briefly) one of their contributors on chat was way out of touch with the cancellation, and was 'winding' up others for a while, which frankly got ridiculous.
We are better informed at F4A certainly.
I feel Emirates A380's will return soon with their airbridge repaired ( sorry CL44).

I dont think there is a problem with the airbridge, the issue was taxiway lighting for the A388

Yes that member who I have never seen before also said a 777 was coming and a Man With a Gun had been spotted he got kicked by Michelle for persumably chatting his Rubbish. He ended been told myself though I might have these two confused that How can a Plane take off it is ay coming to Birmingham. Airport Action Knew I told them off here and another guy that it was due before I told them it was Cancelled along with the Same guy. But Normally most people on AA are friendly and somewhat knowledgeable

Mind you DarloPlaneBoy, I did hear you tell someone on Airport Action that you had heard that Qatar were going to restart operations to BHX with a 777! Not true. If they do ever decided to restart operations it will only be a 787, they will need to build the route up first before they increase the size of the aircraft. Let’s just hope we do at least seem them back at BHX in the next few years!

Now I am getting confused. Without wishing to be pedantic are we talking centreline lighting, edge, on the bends, stop bars, marker boards, the turn onto Stand 54C ? Work required to solve the problem during Winter maintenance? Or is Kevin on the right trail ? What’s its special needs ? If it’s going to return could it be further away than we possibly thought.

Has there been a change in regulations? The A380 was able to operate for several years prior to COVID without any problems.

Kev

BHX will fix the lighting issue as part of its annual maintenance work in Novemeber

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
