The website is currently down and there are reports from elsewhere claiming to have seen conformation from the CEO.

Obviously all speculation until we hear officially but, if true, desperately sad for all of those involved.

Please, can we not post speculation of the state of an airline. If the rumours are untrue, it could have a devastating effect on the future of an airline. Only post such news, if it is confirmed.

I think we’re all aware it’s all speculation until formally announced but it does say in rays post it’s speculation. With it being the middle of the night we’re not likely to hear much from main sources (CAA) until later in the day regarding this if true.

It’s been announced tonight that Flybe have gone into administration again and that all staff will be made redundant from the morning.
Their website is down, and it’ll be in the media tomorrow.

If you make such a statement, can you please quote your source. It's been stated before, that speculative posts regarding an airline's financial status are against F4A's rules.

Even if Flybe had succeeded on their UK/European routes, I think there was no chance that they would have considered long haul services.

I can't see Flybe re-launching again and don't think that Richard Branson would have any interest in investing in an airline who's business model has failed.
My thoughts go to all of those affected by the collapse of #Flybe.

Many here felt it was a bad move to use the old name and branding but ultimately they failed to get off to a good start. Many of the first flight were being cancelled, route start ups delayed. Plagued with aircraft tech problems, delayed aircraft delivery. The list of problems goes on and on. I still standby my initial thinking that they could have made it work. #Flybe was a great brand in its time. Its a culmination of lots of unfortunate events, some mistakes and some poor customer service that ultimately lead to the airlines failure.

They tried to make a souffle rise twice. If a business plan has failed, then trying to recreate it, is utter madness. The management seemed inept, the route network planning seemed to consist of the proverbial large map and a set of darts. Same name, same aircraft type and same managerial problems contributed to this failure....I know others may disagree but we cant help wondering just how much the Heathrow slots contributed to the decision to restart and exactly how much they contributed to the final demise.

I doubt if any reporter, even wannabees, will admit to a source. The scoop is more important. As a legal scholar, I would seek to reference my work but only if it was not privelaged information, and in those circumstances the words 'it is my understanding that......' is acceptable and avoids any violation of courtesies to professional betters.

If customers are moving away income reduces but fixed costs (e.g.salaries and others still need to be paid), cash flow reduces and debt corresponds. We will have to wait to see what the initial auditors report says. If

BBC news are saying there were 2,500 due to fly today and 75,000 cancelled going forward. A fair chunk will be BHX passengers. The best that can happen is EZY or EAI tweak their schedules and slip in an extra rotation here and there or put on an A320 instead of an A319 when appropriate. Let’s hope other airlines reach out to the Flybe crews and cabin staff who now face redundancy; not sure about the Flybe management though.

No plans as their not able to compete against other airlines that have taken flybes old passenger counts e.g Logan air, Eastern

Obviosuly I feel sad for all the staff but seriously who in there right mind would of set up FlybeV2 without having a screw loose ?

The writing was on the wall months ago, sorry in fact even before they relaunched the new airline.

What went wrong, well lots of things actually

1: Launching a new airline in a Economic slowdown/recession

2: Launching a new airline just after we have come out of a Pandemic where people's working pattern's have changed

3: Launching a new airline when the cost of oil has been really expensive

4: Launching a new airline with lots of routes already taken up by rival airlines after the last collapse

5: Launching a new airline with the name #Flybe

I actually feel quite angry, the fact that these so called "business people" who are supposed to know what they are doing have actually put us all through this pain again, it was never going to work and launching some routes from BHD at 5/6 daily when you already have well known reliable airlines on these routes was just madness, I could of told you that.

I really doubt Flybe would have gone Transatlantic they didn't operate any Jet aircraft even old Flybe V1 had a small Embraer Fleet. No chance Flybe would have gone Transatlantic maybe more European Expansion. As for Branson I wouldn't want that Slimeball anywhere near Any airline he would rename it Virgin something and avoid paying Tax. And he has strong feelings about Birmingham so I doubt he would take over an airline with a base here. And Virgin did try to rescue Flybe V1 barely Rescue if that and looked what happened. It is sad but Flybe are gone for good I doubt they will come back a 3rd time. There are reasons Monarch and Thomas Cook never rose again and that was because they are dead launching a Dead brand unless done differently won't work. Rover being a Prime example they tried to restart it with Chinese owners by building the CityRover at Longbridge but it failed so Rover was gone. MG had somewhat success but they ay associated with Britain anymore unlike Jaguar or Aston Martin. Even Lancia trying to revive the Icon failed as they designed an awful rebadged car as a Lancia and it failed. Sadly Once dead no one cares as there are reasons they died in Flybe's case they did to much to fast, did the same things and tried to be old Flybe but were losing £5 Million a week I heard.

Very sad to hear of the demise of Flybe V2, but not surprising in the current economic climate and for other reasons previously mentioned up thread.
My thoughts to all staff affected by the collapse of Flybe.
