BHX and BRS are close but both growing at a good % so if anything this year BHX should improve and certainly a much more interesting variety

Bristol are always late with their numbers, I can never understand why ?

All that orange affects the eyes after a while.

Good % increases at BHX, particularly to the Euro business cities. Important that we keep those routes vibrant, whether business or city break - in both directions. Thanks for posting, Ian.

finally got a reply back from the CAA:-

Hello

Thank you for your email advising us of potential missing route information to/from Birmingham airport and please accept apologies for the delay in replying to you.

Birmingham Airport Authorities have confirmed that these were missing and the information has now been provided. We have recently published annual 2022 Airport tables where you will see that both Birmingham – Istanbul and Zurich are now appearing.

So, the CAA has finally published the data for January, together with their summary for 2022.

Whilst I was collating my data, for the following reports, I noticed an apparent error in the movements total. I would therefore ask you to take the rolling movements total with a pinch of salt as the CAA says the numbers for 2022 were 65,644 where as my records show 74,108 which excludes December (which the CAA has still not provided.

Numbers on Ryanair’s new winter routes not looking brilliant in that chart, assuming they were all 2 weekly throughout the month. Toulouse figures look good, although that also had TUI.

I've often wondered why FR chose such routes when there was low hanging fruit to the likes of Charleroi, Rome, Berlin etc, rather than Bordeaux, Billund and Santander. I wonder what the thinking was behind those route choices.....

BER in particular would have been good for Christmas traffic. They seem unwilling to serve most City routes from both BHX and EMA. I find it strange as lots of their city routes have only 2-3 weekly flights, surely they could serve routes like BER from both BHX and EMA but on different days of the week? Then they wouldn’t be competing with themselves and it would give more choice to travellers.
