And so many cancelled for no apparent reason. I can understand if the weather conditions at AMS and/or LBA are outside operating limits, but many do not appear to have been cancelled for that reason. The service has become so unreliable.
It’s been seen at HUY too, it’s a shame but I fear the pressure from various more environmentally concerned corners in Netherlands politics is having an impact on the levels of service provided, along side the aircraft issues in general and accelerated by Covid and all the staffing issues that ensued.

What we must remember here is that KLM are pretty much the only airline that serve the U.K. regions with such a seamless interline facility with a comprehensive range of onward connections. I don’t think much is made of that and I think it’s imperative that this link is maintained, so if this means using T3 and German Airways to allow it to continue then so be it, it’s far better than the alternative.

In fairness, and in a don’t shoot the messenger kind of way, I don’t think leaving LBA was entirely of their own making. I understand there was an element of LBA not really wanting small operators like T3 there which may have caused friction. This is the impression I get.

I like you am cautious of this and I’m hoping it’s only a temporary measure whilst the issues with capacity at KLM are ironed out. But at least they haven’t pulled the plug!
That's not my understanding. On the contrary LBA were trying to get Eastern to increase capacity beyond that provided by the J41s, and to reintroduce routes such as Newquay. The CEO even had a large model if an Eastern J41 sat on his desk. I have been told the reason Eastern left but here isn't the place to say what it is, in case the information wasn't accurate. Let's just say something that should have happened didn't, LBA took action, and as a result Eastern pulled out.

You can hear numerous things, it may be slightly different if you talk to people at T3 HQ as I have done. Still, it caused upset from within too I gather, and you are quite right to be concerned about their MO. However, they do have a great team of people keen to have some stability in the operation and if done right this could provide that platform. I just hope they aren’t instructed to operate random charters in the middle of the schedule at the whim of the top man - cos they will end up out of place and stuck. I do however sincerely hope KLM are committed to returning after this when their capacity issues are resolved.

Apart from anything else seeing a KLM livery gives a big airport feel- Eastern not at all.

The media will have a field day. 'KLM to stop flying from.......airport'
Any media that does that will just make themselves look totally stupid ( which granted, some clearly are) given that these airports will remain bookable on the KLM website and flights will continue to use KLM ticketing and carry KLM flight numbers and in all probability will utilise the same equipment too (E175).

Exactly, I would be surprised if you will be able to book through Easterns website for these flights.

It looks like they are coming back!

The Humberside based airline Eastern Airways is actively on its social media platforms this morning advertising for Captains, First Officers & Cabin Crew to be based at Leeds/Bradford.

What we thinking guys & gals?

Codeshares services for either KLM, Air France, British Airways or will it be there own scheduled flights again.

I hope things run smoother for them this time, if they do.
No indication of type ratings required.
Im thinking/hoping this is linked to a renewed LHR service with a BA/oneworld codeshare/interline agreement.

I really hope theyre not going to take over from KLM, that would be a worst case scenario.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
