If they are advertising for more crews you would assume they are getting more aircraft.Eastern have operated MAN AMS also as I have seen on FR24. I hope they are looking at ABZ & NQY. Hoping its not taking all of the AMS service. Do Eastern even have enough AC if they are doing MME/HUY also
If KLM are having crewing issues and engines probs on their own e -jet fleet then do they have any spare B737 knocking about? More competitive fares with 737s into LBA perhaps?Eastern have been able to get very good lease deals on the E-jet fleet. I’m led to believe that the contract keeps being extended but it’s not necessarily going to be a long term solution. KLM are having a crewing issue on their Cityhopper fleet, which is compounded by the engine issues on their own E-Jet fleet. Be interesting to see what happens over the next 18 months.
Where was it actually advertised, as I’ve googled, checked Twitter, Facebook etc….and can’t see anything about recruiting for a Leeds Bradford base - other than the image that was shared on here.Eastern Airways 737, now that would be interesting lol.
Does anyone actually know when these Eastern LBA plans are likely to become public? I.e. is it for KLM or is it something else?
I cant remember either, but I saw it on Easterns web site. Looking for Leeds and Bristol crews.Where was it actually advertised, as I’ve googled, checked Twitter, Facebook etc….and can’t see anything about recruiting for a Leeds Bradford base - other than the image that was shared on here.
Hopefully it turns into something concrete, and more than just related to the KLM service
Highly unlikely. They are moving over to Eastern for most of their U.K. regional departure points for the time being. If KLM are having crewing issues and engines probs on their own e -jet fleet then do they have any spare B737 knocking about? More competitive fares with 737s into LBA perhaps?
I mean KLM B737s although i think you know that hahaEastern Airways 737, now that would be interesting lol.

I really hope this doesnt come to fruition.Highly unlikely. They are moving over to Eastern for most of their U.K. regional departure points for the time being.
The one plus from such an arrangement is that Eastern would have to meet the standards set by KLM under the terms of their agreement which basically, would mean performing a whole lot better than they did last time they were here. KLM won't sit back and do nothing if interlining passengers are missing long haul flights due to poor reliability by Eastern.I really hope this doesnt come to fruition.
Yes just another poor attempt at humour on my part!I mean KLM B737s although i think you know that haha
Saying that a 737 in easterns colour scheme would look pretty nice!
hi all
are eastern jets cat3 or2 it could be a bad winter for the klm route.
sm1
I've always got the impression though that they cancel more flights due to bad weather at AMS than they do due to weather at LBA. When they do struggle at LBA it seems to be mostly wind related rather than visibility.Eastern Airways Embraer’s are certified for CAT2 ops at LBA.
Im not sure even KLM City Hopper’s Embraer’s are CAT3 certified for ops at LBA. They seem to divert to EMA or back to AMS very quickly, then cancel lots of flights during bad wather.
This would be my preferred option. KLM need to keep the brand prominent. Its much better than an aircraft in the livery of an airline nobody has heard of (Eastern) or an anonymous all white aircraft. So maybe Eastern should take on the mantle of branding as KLM UK as a clearly defined franchise operation with planes liveried accordingly
