His last day today. I wish him, Sarah and their baby the best of luck for the future.

Did airways not become servisair?

Yeah they did pilot_ben. Airways is still a commonly used term around the airport for some of those guys who initially were with the company. All are now employee's of Servisair Uk.

Thanks for confirming that!
I worked for servisair a couple of years ago! Do you know which Johnny has left!?

Re: Leeds Bradford Infrastructure & Developments

For anyone interested First Bus have taken over the airside bus service from First Rail Replacement on 2nd June. These vehicles can only be used airside as they retain their Irish registrations. They were new in 2004.

Re: Leeds Bradford Infrastructure & Developments

"Ls27 I think you'll find that the Irish Reg buses that First Leeds have acquired from First Dublin (Air Coach) for the airport contract are allowed out on the roads here in the UK, But only when running private without passengers on-board, As they have been seen a few times running empty between the Airport and Hunslet Park garage..

Swissport possible strike disruption 19 Dec to 4 Jan 2024/5.
Has anyone any further news on this? I was considering a quick trip next week but I can’t risk disruption so close to Christmas so I’ve shelved the idea.

Only a matter of time before someone claims that such a strike would never happen at DSA.

You have to wonder though why Swissport would pay extra for de-icing duties at other airports but refuse to do so at LBA. All staff should be paid the same for doing the same job irrespective if which airport they're working at.

Strike has been called off. Swissport paying up. So all good.

It wouldn't happen at DSA…no planes there to de-ice!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
