I’m in Menston and can assure people that this blue rinse brigade don’t represent the views of those of the majority in the village!
When airport developments get raised on the local Facebook groups these folks get very short shrift from the rest on there - they seem to think they live in some idyllic country village miles from anywhere rather then a commuter village on the edge of the third biggest city in the UK.
The vast majority in Menston are appreciative of the airport, the jobs it provides and use it on a regular basis.
Just same as Horsforth. What we need is plenty of pro airport residents to attend the Community meeting in Menston. The airport havent confirmed date or venue yet but when they do I will post on here.

Again its disappointing to see LBA social media team have failed to acknowledge the launch of the new EZY services - PMI on Sunday and AGP today. I know there is still time but a post on Sunday exclusively to PMI and a post today exclusively to AGP gives important and engaging information on social media. Again they could do another post with Sun Express returning. Looking at other airports who announce new/returning routes for the season (LPL) these are popular posts and engaging, with more interactions then these random videos they post, on what book do people read etc..

Jet2/Ryanair seasonal routes returning all should be shouted and promoted.. its literally free advertisement and letting the public / social media know what routes/airlines wehave

Adverts/Publicity for both routes all over FB this afternoon. I would provide the link but not sure it's allowed.

Yes. Press release has been issued and then picked up across lots of media outlets. Generally speaking, press releases like this will have to be coordinated with the PR team at the airline. It will need approvals/ sign/off from both parties and agreement on the timing of the release

Good to see. Other airline / airports seem to be more on the ball. I don’t know why any airline would object to free publicity on social media promoting a new service.

LBA themselves posted wrong timings before on a easyJet route advertisement post.

They wouldn’t. But with a joint press release with quotes from spokespeople from both organisations then obviously it needs to be coordinated and the wording approved.
I know. That's if its a press release. A simple social media post promoting the new service / airline on the day wouldn't require it. Other airports do it.

Agreed. Think there are more important things going on in the world for us to worry about. Things that certainly trump this delayed announcement.
All that said I do think it's something that U2 and LBA should be shouting from the rooftops as there is a major expansion opportunity available here for both parties

To be fair they advertised Paris and Geneva. They've continued to do so periodically . Now they've advertised Palma and Malaga, admittedly a day late, but these things are normally released on an agreed day at an agreed time.

Airport on "Drone Alert Amber" at present with a drone reported operating in the Horsforth area. All aircraft being warned of situation.
Did they give an approx location? Left or right of centreline 2/3 miles out etc, get a good view from attic room didnt notice anything and have airband on and never heard anything mentioned! thanks

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
