Why wouldnt you comment? Because
G-GDFD that went tech is an 800. Its a 300 that's gone on the rescue mission.

Another 28 year old plane going tech.…yes before everyone starts saying Jet2 maintain them well and planes of any age can go tech the older ones seem to be more problematic….its another case of us at LBA with most of the older planes who have the problems….Gatwick are getting brand spanking new ones, as the new planes arrive the older stock will work it way to us at LBA who in turn have to put up with situations like this. Just my opinion which I know people will disagree with.

Last time you said this, I checked the LBA based aircraft and found that 50% were the newer 737 800s, all around 8 years old. The age of our fleet varies all the time as it does elsewhere. And we have seen only recently that even the newer 737s have technical issues.

That said, it does feel that Jet2 are more interested these days in the major airports than the likes of LBA, NCL or EMA and I am certainly not happy we have all the 300s, although my discontent is more to do with size and capacity than age or noise.

Several delays this morning - no movements before 07:00

Also, PH-EXJ seems to have gone tech after operating KL1021, so KL1022 was cancelled. Seemed to hold a short amount of time on approach earlier, might have something to do with it, providing it wasn't traffic. Seems to still be on ground, but towed elsewhere from stand 10, where it parked earlier

Its not the dreaded airbus software update is it?
No. Wizz issued a statement earlier today to say all affected aircraft were dealt with overnight and flights were operating as normal.
Thought it was just certain A320 models?

No, its the A320 family so includes the A319 and A321. But older aircraft need more work than recent builds which can be done in a couple of hours.

Noticed this mornings early WIZZ Cluj flight went around the hold a couple of times before 7.00am and then descended to land on time at 7.05am. Weather CAVOK 270/14kts. I've also noticed a couple of Jet2 aircraft lining up but waiting until 7.00am to roll recently. Might seem the airport are looking to 'save' night slots for the sake of a few minutes delay which would seem sensible?

Its standard practice to have no movements between 06:45 and 07:00 as far as I am aware.

No, it was a crewing issue
Very unusual, maybe one of crew was taken ill.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
