The problems yesterday more about the strong crosswinds in Belfast and Dublin yesterday afternoon which resulted in cancellations and diversions across the EI regional networkEI3677/3679 to Belfast both cancelled this evening, as well as EI3395 to Dublin. EI3393 delayed by nearly 2 hours

Tonight its our turn. Both the Dublin and Belfast flights by Aer Lingus/Emerald are in the hold, with the Belfast being there half an hour, presumably due to crosswinds being outside limits. (Gusting 39 knots) . Earlier in the day it was fog that caused a divert to LPL. Not a good day for ATR72 ops.The problems yesterday more about the strong crosswinds in Belfast and Dublin yesterday afternoon which resulted in cancellations and diversions across the EI regional network
Miserable with fog and rain most of the day then that clears followed by westerly gales. Only in the UK.Tonight its our turn. Its totally the wrong aircraft for routes out of Ireland to the UK, the weather in both countries us just too challenging for the ATR.I see both ATR's at least managed to grace us with their presence this morning
Agreed but also far more expensive to operate which risks the routes becoming unviable. LBA and some others such as MAN and BHX probably could support a jet but other thinner routes probably wouldn't and someone like Emerald will need fleet commonalityE145s or E170s would be a far better proposition.
