Not this again, surelyIts totally the wrong aircraft for routes out of Ireland to the UK, the weather in both countries us just too challenging for the ATR.

And so for that reason it probably is the right aircraft for the job.Whilst I agree there @LBAYORKIE I fear without ATR ops then the routes wouldn't exist so possibly the lesser of two evils, however frustrating it is
Probably isn't, but every now and then we do get some very poor days with EI. Yesterday for example, Emerald managed to fly absolutely zero passengers from LBA- BHD.I suspect the cancelled/diverted rate isn't actually as bad as it's perceived as this is perhaps more about frustration. Anyone have any specific figures/percentages for LBA please?
This truly shows how Round The Bend the rules are.
Im surprised they come even close to using the Winter quota given the paucity of flights and the early nightime closure thats in place.Given the current outdated and ludicrous movement restrictions I can understand delaying landing until 0700. Why use up a valuable movement for the sake of a couple of minutes? It really is crazy though. And to my knowledge, LBA still havent submitted the application to amend the rules because as usual the Council are slowing the process down.
They don't, but the less they use, the bigger the 10% is that can be transferred to the summer. If they didn't operate any night flights in winter they could transfer 120 to summer. If they operate 200 night flights, they only get to transfer 100.Im surprised they come even close to using the Winter quota given the paucity of flights and the early nightime closure thats in place.
From what I can see, all Aer Lingus Belfast flights cancelled and only this mornings Dublin operated. The wind in Ireland was seriously bad today, Gusting over 60 knots at Dublin earlier. LBA hasn't been too bad. Its got worse in the last hour, now 200 deg 25 knots. Runway 14 in use.Expect delays and cancellations tomorow on the dub/bhd-lba routes as another deep low pressure is due to arrive.
Yes the centre of the low is just off the north west of ireland and up the west of scotland. Reg here im out and about now and the winds for up altho nothing in comparison to Ireland and Scotland. From what I can see, all Aer Lingus Belfast flights cancelled and only this mornings Dublin operated.
