Norwegian is operating a weekly Tenerife (TFS) for TUI into Cardiff this summer.

An hour and a half turn around time at LBA aswell! good to see a new airlines at LBA

I'm guessing the planned 90 min turn around time at LBA will be for the BHX based crew changes.

PS:
Before anyone gets too excited or carried away remember it's not 100% confirmed Norwegian as the Thomson website states airline TBA. (To be announced) So at this time anything could yet turn up. but it's going to be one to watch!

Just been talking to a friend over a couple of cold ones.

Apparently G-TAWM had its port side scimitar winglet damaged (ripped off) last night and has subsequently been replaced via W pattern with G-TAWJ. The aircraft was taxiing onto stand after its flight from PFO when it came into contact with a set of air steps owned by Swissport. Monarch engineers had to work through the night to remove the other winglet as the aircraft isn't certified to fly with just one.

As of yet he didn't know if it was the flight crew of Ground handlers at fault. In any case those winglets don't come cheap!! £££££

:wtf:

Ooch! Somebody won't be getting a bonus this year!

If Thomson prove there pilots weren't at fault would the airport pay compensation? Or would they claim off insurance?

I imagine it will be an insurance claim whatever the outcome. On most stands at LBA the interstand clearways are very narrow and if aircraft are maneuvering on adjoining stands you don't have a lot of room to play with but the markings are clearly defined though. If I was a betting man which I'm not, I'd probably put money on the ground crew pulling the steps too close to the stand. Steps actually overhang beyond the wheelbase so there is potential for people to think they're not overhanging the stand when they are.

Got a funny feeling something wrong here! As I've just been looking on Thomson Holidays website and its currently showing both the non based Friday Palma-Majorca and new Sunday Malaga-Costa del Sol flights as been operated by "Tibet Airlines" Meanwhile the flight only website still shows flights operated by "Airline TBA"

Could it be a typo. Maybe Titan Airways instead as I believe they operate aircraft for Jet2 out of LBA?

Appears i've jumped on a band wagon that i started ... that ship sank straight away haha.

So .... if they are W off another carrier could it be another carrier such as Norwegian but surely the better option would be to go in on themselves especially as LBA would then be able to attract the carrier on off-peak times.

Why not take an allocation on say Jet2? or Monarch?

If they are disappearing i simply have three words; see you bye.

What you on about? Thomson's are definitely not pulling out! They are actually increasing operations from LBA next summer 2017. I can only politely suggest you go read some of the previous older posts on this thread to fully understand the situation before spouting more nonsense about Thomson's on here Nicholas1992..

lbaspotter. I agree. By the way, why has your last post appeared twice (or is it my phone playing up) ?

Norwegian have already been mentioned on here as a possible candidate but I have heard other carriers been mentioned eg Spanish charter airline Alberstar. Guessing Air Europa or Evelop could be possible contenders as well. Like you say and I totally agree that seeing Thomson Airways using a BHX based aircraft on a w-leg would be a whole lot better option. Especially seen as the Sunday Malaga flights is timed with a cruise departure.

Taking a wild guess that Thomson Holidays might think they can fill up the own 180 Seat aircraft (Boeing 737-800) without having to share/take a seat allocation on another operators (Jet2 or Monarch) scheduled flights.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
