Having already seen the view from that location looking out east from the new terminal will be stunning.

Be great to see more pics released to show how the food and beverage will look and be located along with shopping areas. The only hint of anything like that is is the Eastern view in the area at the top of the escalators where there looks to be a cafe. Then again as discussed at the weekend these are the concepts drawn up by the architects and those are usually the wishes/aims of said architects and are up for change by the airport.
I discussed the living wall. Can see that being dropped and in its place light boxes for advertising or a large media wall for the same purpose.
We are good a doing that in the UK, cluttering up spaces for advertising in the name of being a revenue stream.
Let's hope I'm wrong and the look that is envisaged does come about.

I would prefer advertising screens that change periodically dotted around the terminal rather than taking up walls. If you watch the Malta Airport YouTube video they show them in their terminal expansion video.

This is the kind of advertising I mean, I think it's inevitable the airport will want to use every possible place it can to advertise but something like this would be better than plastering adverts all over walls. In the video, these screens change so they're able to host multiple advertisements. The best thing about these too is that they look more attractive than plain concrete pillars.

It's a screen capture from the Malta Airport development video.

If we're going down the 'green' design route, I wonder if we will have an indoor garden? Guessing a smaller version of the famous Singpore Changi is out of the question......in favour for more adspace maybe :ROFLMAO:

Just to confirm to all, that once the planning application goes in, we will have to submit separate letters of support (via mail or on line via the council planning application website). This was confirmed to me today by Charles Johnson (LBA) at the consultation event. Worth remembering that each person can submit one, so husband and wife = 2. Children over 18 too. Get the entire family to do it! Thanks to all for completing the LBA questionnaire though. LBA will be using these to indicate to the planning committee the sort of support the proposal is getting and the key areas of comment.

It will never happen unless it involves cycle lanes, which is all Leeds City Council seem to be interested in these days. And look at what a blight these have been on Wellington Street and Kirkstall Road. When are the council elections??

The BRS planning application rejection was anticipated by many. BRS sits in the tiny North Somerset Unitary Authority area that became a 'Rainbow' council last May with Lib-Dems. Independents and Greens ousting the previously Conservative-dominated council. Many of them campaigned at last year's local elections on the basis of being anti airport expansion. Neighbouring Bristol City Council (Labour controlled), South Gloucestershire Unitary Authority (Conservative controlled) and the West of England Combined Authority are all pro-airport expansion and formally supported the airport's planning application.

North Somerset's own planning officers recommended approval of the plans. It's anticipated that the airport will appeal to the Planning Inspectorate and it will be a major surprise if the councillors' decision is not overturned.

BRS still has some breathing space as it's still one million passengers a year short of its current 10 mppa planning cap.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
