I'm with you @LBA4EVER get it built in readiness for the inventible re bound. Travel will come back, Leisure almost instantly, business slightly slower. But I wonder if there are other socio/economic factors coming into play. Downturn/Recession etc attributed to COVID but ultimately down to the economic cycles.
exactly and when the airlines are looking at new routes to try build up their route networks again LBA will be there with its new infrastructure and catchment area! Building the terminal and all that goes with it once things get back to normal say in a few years would mean that all the new routes and airlines will of gone elsewhere by then!! anyway who knows, things might change.

...I meant to add, my gut feeling is that the terminal will be built by another equity company. To do that new business needs to be introduced over the next 18 months to show bounce back from Covid to any future investor, hence the arrival of Hodder.

Alex Sobels mail to me states mid June as a cut of date for the Minister to decide.
He may have until mid June to ask him to call it in, but for Green Belt regulations, which is why it's with Jenrick now, there is a fast track option of 4 weeks. LBA expected a response by mid April at the latest. It's unlikely Jenrick will approve it for green belt and then backtrack and call it in. I think if he signs off on green belt then he will ignore requests for a public inquiry.

So let me get this straight. If SoS turns it down, that pretty much cabs the whole idea and we are left to fester while everywhere else grows. If the SoS grants it, the current owners are not even going to put shovels in the ground for another 3 years, which means we are left to fester while everywhere else around us grows. If the SoS grants it, but the current owners sell up, it will take ages for a new buyer to come forward, ages for them to take over, and then no doubt start doing their own cost analysis and assessments, which will take ages and we will be left to fester while everywhere else grows.

No evidence at all that LBA will be sold. Why sell? More likely to sell their half ownership of NCL and LTN in my view.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
