I'd be amazed if any money that was "ring fenced" pre-Covid by any company/organisation hasn't been touched yet tbh!

Think this is the part of the application that will have the most difficulty getting approved, and is causing the doubt atm.
Ironically many people don't even realise the airport operates 24H Some have said they don't want flights around the clock but they already operate around the clock.

When the flying rules would change if approved would depend on what is agreed with the council.

These key points that are been raised on here are what need to be explained in more detail to the panel by someone off here!

Just so i understand WH? What do the planners say about the amended hours as this seemed to the main debate area?
That it will result in an increase to 17 departures by 2032 (7 million pax) between 0600 and 0700 compared to around 6 otherwise, but only an additional 1 movement at night. In terms of noise nuisance the increase will be negligible especially as the airport will fund secondary glazing for homes within the noise contour and costs will not be capped, unlike other airports. Noise will diminish further in future as newer, quieter aircraft are introduced. Basically, it says it's not a major issue in itself and does point out it only brings LBA in line with other airports.

One interesting point within the report is that if approval is given, the approval for the existing terminal extension will be overturned. This would prevent LBA from subsequently not building the terminal and then going back to plan A by extending the old one instead.

It's a long and complex read but I really do suggest that people read it. It will answer a lot if questions.

I picked that up too when I read it (skimmed through) and if it helps I don't think anyone is going to argue.

This is the corresponding article in the Wharfedale. In this article they quote the correct figure of 1600 votes for approval.
They are also running a straw poll which ends today which is currently running at 75% for and 25% against approval. Can members please log in to vote and/or leave a comment- the opposition will no doubt try to blitz comments and votes today. Thanks.

It's exactly the same article as appeared yesterday in the Telegraph and Argus too, written by Richard Beecham.

I have registered and voted. There has been 509 votes and as you say 75% in favour - this from any area served by this usually anti airport paper with anti airport councillors etc. All four comments are in favour, and several mention the appalling opposition by the Labour MP or Councillors.

If approved do the changes to flying time rules apply immediately or only on completion of terminal building? If I were the council I'd link the two

A reasonably high quality publication by normal YEP standards.
“ around the proposals for a new £150m terminal and RUNWAY at the site in Yeadon”. Oh dear, oh dear, they’ve been nobbled by GALBA!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
